Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Digital Coffee Maker with Easy Measure Feature

Amazon Customer: I purchased this coffee machine about 4 months ago as I had read good reviews about it and it was on a list of the best budget coffee machines. After it arrived I took time to read through the instructions carefully, clean it, and assemble it. I was even diligent about replacing the filters. It was working fine until one day it completely stopped working. It would turn on, but when it said it was brewing, it did not brew. I tried unplugging it and troubleshooting. I then tried to clean it, but the 'cleaning' light was on and nothing was happening with the machine. It continued to say it was 'cleaning' for hours but the machine was doing nothing. I tried unplugging it for an extended period of time and trying to clean it or do a brew cycle again to no avail. I tried to troubleshoot by looking online and watching videos about what the issue could be. The fact that I couldn't even get it to clean seemed to indicate a more serious internal issue.

I contacted the seller to see about a warranty as most machines like this at least have a one year warranty. Apparently there is no warranty, and since I had the machine for more than 3 months, there is nothing they can do. It is a...

ФИЛИП: I like this coffee maker because of how well the coffee tastes. Once you figure you how many scoops you prefer, it consistently produces the same flavor. We make about 3 pots of coffee every day so the makers seem to last just one year, some times less, before plastic parts begin to break. I've tried other brands with more features and a lot more money and have never been as satisfied with the taste as with Mr. Coffee.

One ergonomic issue I have is with the placement of the brew, timer, and clock buttons. They are up high where the basket is, and vertical. It is very difficult to see without bending down, and once I do that I can't see through the near-vision part of my eye glasses. Other Mr Coffee models have the buttons and clock on the hot plate section of the maker, which is at the bottom, and they face up toward the ceiling. On those models, the buttons are are very easy to see and set properly.

Thomas Rhodes: This Mr. Coffee machine looked and worked great very quiet and was used almost every weekday until it died 15 months to the day. Machine turns on automatically on set time but no pumping of water.

Heather Godwin: I bought this to replace the Hamilton Beach I'd only had for about 8 months. The carafe was a huge pain to get in and out of the maker.

The Mr. Coffee maker has easy to follow color coded markings on the pot and tank that match the measuring scoop that came with the pot. The carbon filter is a nice addition. The timer across the bottom shows how long the coffee has been sitting, up to 4 hours before shut off. Great feature! I REALLY missed the notification sounds when the coffee is finished brewing and before it shuts off. My older Mr. Coffee makers had that feature but not the Hamilton. Best feature...I don't have to fight with the carafe!

Teri Doolittle: I've been a fan of Mr Coffee coffeemakers for many years. My previous (discontinued?) model suddenly blew its fuse and the person I know who can fix it is far away, so it was time for a new one. This one is fine. There are minor quirks that I can live with, but make it a bit less than perfect. I've had it for a month and the markings are already worn off the measuring cup, just from normal wear. The water level markings on the carafe are subtle and smallish, so I have to look at it at just the right angle to see what the water level is before I pour it into the coffeemaker. Likewise, the color-coded water levels, which are only on one side of the coffeemaker, are very small and subtle which makes it difficult to read. So, I have resorted to using a measuring cup... not a deal breaker! In this model, the water goes up into the lid and comes down directly over the coffee grounds, rather than the previous model which had a spout. I find that water condenses on the inside of the lid and along the rim of the filter holder, on the inside of the coffee pot.
