Norse/Scot: I bought this valve to possibly replace a brand new valve that came in a new Kohler toilet. Functionally the new toilet valve worked fine but all the time the tank was filling there was an annoying whistle. Particularly annoying at 3AM. This application was for a lake supply water source in cottage country and the pump supply is about 50 psi. I ordered a new valve but then paused and said this new valve will whistle too and is made by Fluidmaster for Kohler. So I bought a universal Korky fill valve that also advertised as a quiet valve. And it was. Worked fine from the get-go and and we are pleased with it.

William R. Smith: The old fill valve was making a high pitched squealing noise when the toilet was flushed. Bought a new fill valve and replaced the old one. The noise went away.

The new fill valve is easy to install. There might be a way to clean the old fill valve but it was easier to just replace it.

LJC: Arrived promptly and it is genuine Kohler. But printed clearly on this box is that if your existing Kohler part has a black shank, you cannot use this part which has a gray shank, though it is Kohler and in all other ways appears identical to the item I've been peering at in my toilet tank. If only that had been clear in the product description. Much easier than trying to read part numbers and cross checking everything only to learn it was color coded all along. I'm giving 5 stars because it is a good product and service and return were easy.

wpshaw: My original fill valve in the basement started to never fully close with a trickle of water continuously feeding into the tank. Risky business if for whatever reason the toilet might get backed up!

Required a bit of research to ensure right part to order (Kohler site very helpful with this!)
Ordered and received the next day.
Clear included instructions facilitated an easy install in less than 30 mins with only a crescent wrench.

Works great. No more worries.

CSL: The connector (7/8 ballcock) is special and not listed in the documentation. In Singapore this is not common and I had to order an special braided hose with the correct connector.

But the fill valve is well built, easy to adjust the fill levels from the top knob.
