Jordon: The groupset is a great upgrade from the stock 8 speed my bike had. I ride a 1x setup and it is a game changer having a nearly 1:1 first gear and a >4:1 top gear. I love the 3x downshift it makes climbs nice being able to keep a relatively high cadence.

MTB NIK: Firstly, all the items in the box are genuine Shimano. No questions. After having a 12 speed chain fail (250 miles !) I lost faith in the chains so decided to go 10 speed. The shifting is as good if not better than the 12 speed setup. The cassette is a good spread of ratios. The only slight downside is a bigger gap in ratios between first and second but you soon get used to it so its not a deal breaker. The shifter came with a gear indicator window which I was initially disappointed with but its underneath the bar unlike the older shifters which were on top so really not that noticeable and for the money I soon got over it. I wont be going back to 12 speed.

natet: The product write up is poor. Seems like it hasn't been rewritten since they stopped selling M6000s.

I wanted a clutched derailleur and in the Q&A section, I see the seller responded (8/2022) that the 11-46 package includes the M5120. The 11-42 package includes the M4120 (no clutch).

Ordered on 11/3/2022: I can confirm the 11-46 Silver package does indeed include the M5120 RD, 10 speed Shimano shifter, KMC 10 speed chain, a little bit of shifter cable housing, and a Deore M4100 11-46 silver cassette.

RgreenRgreen: This is a great package to convert an old hard tail to a 1X10 setup. The derailleur is nice I put it next to an extra M8000 11 speed I have on my workbench and it has most of the same basic technology. Everything you need is included except the front cog (dependent on your crank) and the wolf tooth goatlink 11 which I think is mentioned in other reviews. I had one in hand but used a RISK link I got here on Amazon and it works great. Definitely a good way to get more life out of an older frame for a low budget. I would highly recommend some blue loc tite on the bolt between the derailleur hanger and whatever link you use. It needs to stay in place and not move in order to work by installing it you create a long lever with 2 pivot point.

This is not complicated but does require some basic bike know how. Good project for first timers who are not in a hurry.

Maynard the MiserMaynard the Miser: I put this cassette on my road bike with the Wolf Tooth Roadlink despite the fact that my derailleur didn't have the capacity to handle it. My derailleur (a Shimano 105, RD-5700), according to Shimano's website, has a capacity of 39 teeth. For those who aren't familiar, your bike's capacity is calculated by taking the difference in the number of teeth in your cassette's smallest and largest gears, and adding that to the difference in the largest and smallest front gears (chainrings). This cassette is an 11-42 and my chainrings are 50-34. So (42-11) + (50-34) = 31 + 16 = 47, which is 8 teeth more than my derailleur's 39-tooth capacity.

So I really should have gotten a long cage derailleur that would handle that capacity. But it works fine anyway, as long as I remember not to try to shift into either of the two biggest cassette gears while I'm in the largest chainring up front. If I do, it will probably rip the derailleur off my bike because there isn't enough chain for those gear combinations. I never cross chain in that direction anyway so it isn't an issue.

LIBRARIAN: The "JGBike Derailleur Link" is essential to making this cassette work.
I replaced a Sunrace 11-42 cassette and a Sram X5 Rear derailleur, with this 11-46 cassette and a Sram GX derailleur.
As near as I can tell the Sram GX is the same as the X5 except the GX has a clutch and a cage lock (cage lock is great for getting the rear wheel on and off and for otherwise removing the chain).

My derailleur hanger is a 27mm.
I could make my X5 derailleur work on the 11-42 cassette, without a derailleur link extension, but the b screw was close to its limit.
There's no way the 11-46 will work with a Sram rear derailleur without the JGBike Derailleur Link.

That being said, after installing the derailleur link the 11-46 cassette works fantastic.
Better than my 11-42 did without the derailleur link.

I like running a chain as long as possible, because I think the rear derailleur shifts better when it sits further forward - in other words with the b-screw screwed out as far as you can get it so the derailleur hugs the cassette.
But you have to balance that against being able to clear the large cog.
This is where the "JGBike Derailleur Link" really...
