InSinkErator Garbage Disposal - Keep Your Kitchen Clean and Odor-Free

Jennifer Moody: The 1/3 HP garbage disposal that came with our new build home failed after 4.5 years of use. We hardly used the old one due to it not working well. So it was time to upgrade for sound and performance. I am mechanically inclined and after watching several videos I knew I could install my first garbage disposal. This instal was easy and took 70 min including finding a saw to cut a waste line. I utilized some scrap wood and a flat pry bar to leverage and hold it in place while “locking” it in place. The specs for it were exactly as described so everything fit perfectly. The location of the drain line was a bit higher than my old disposal so it improved drainage. ##Bonus## Being able to remove the the rubber gasket where the food scraps goes makes removing unwanted items and cleaning it out a breeze.

Mediahound 🎧: I replaced a rusted out and leaking Insinkerator Badger 500 with the Insinkerator 3/4 HP Evolution Compact that I got on Amazon. Hopefully this one won't rust out as the inside components are supposed to be stainless steel. It's also much quieter while being more powerful so I'm a happy.

Installation was a fairly straightforward swap in with the existing drain hoses/pipes since I was going from and to the same brand. The new one is slightly thicker so I have slightly less volume of space underneath my sink, which is no big deal.

And I love how the rubber baffle and be removed, it just pulls out. It makes it better to allow the disposer to dry overnight and not get as yucky. Or if you have a lot to put in, the opening is larger. Really nice.

I'm shocked how much quieter this one is an it's not even a top of the line model. Very happy with the purchase.

CRB: Muy potente, con ruido moderado, tenía la versión anterior de este mismo modelo y lo mejoraron bastante, se escucha con mayor poder y en cuestión de segundos libera el lavatrastes.

Fácil de manera y pude usar la instalación que ya tenia del anterior.

OG: It is quiet! I thought it was not working! So, I made the technician add some ice cubes, how do I know is working? Really quiet.

It is larger than the one it replaced, Seem durable, time will tell. And if you do the math, compare to a cheaper one, this is more cost effective. The cheaper ones do fail within 1 year! Just by the cost of someone coming to replace it, in the long run this is more cost effective.

As far as installation, It seemed easy for the technician. I did not install it myself.

One thing that I wish I knew before the tech came to my home.

This item does not come with an electrical cord. So, he asked me where is the cord? I am like, in the box?
He went to buy it. So, the installation took longer. I wish he had asked me for it at the time of the appointment.

Just heads up! If you are doing it yourself or bringing someone in.

Diane P: We had to replace our broken disposer after 10 years and wanted to stay with the name brand as we had before. We went to one of the large hardware chains and could not believe what they cost now after ten years! So I looked up the same model on Amazon and it was on sale for about $100 less than the store. After we received the order, we had our plumber friend attach it and it was done within 15 minutes. The disposer is quiet and dissolves the garbage better because of the dual chop system it has. I have been using it since we received it with no problems whatsoever. With free delivery we saved about $125!

DD: InSinkErator Garbage Disposer Compact 3/4 HP Evolution is absolutely fantastic. My Plumber insisted I purchase a InSinkErator Garbage Disposal, that is the only brand he will install. I ended up purchasing the 3/4 HP based on all the wonderful reviews. My Plumber was skeptical of the 3/4 HP, because of the limited space underneath my corner sink along with possible weight issues. His exact words after the installation process were " You did really great on buying this disposal. This is a really nice garbage disposal, it sits higher under the sink to conserve space, was extremely easy to install. I was surprised how quiet it was to run, it has a little wrench to help unlock items that get stuck in the disposal, & the weight will not be an issue with your regular counter tops. boun: Small unit and quite it. Easy to install if you have all the parts, the unit does NOT come with any wire and plumber putty. Also if you're replace your old unit and since this unit is a compact mode the piping may need to relocated to fit or extra fitting is needed.
