Kemper Morrow III: Recently, I picked up an Android Auto head unit for my 1998 Toyota 4runner. It had a backup camera option, so I decided to pick up this kit, seeing as it was a good price and had lights built in. To say that installing something like this is tedious in the 4runner is an understatement. With the license plate being in the hatch, you need to feed both the power cable and the video cable through some tight crevices and tubes. It took me a few hours to get all the wiring leading up to the camera, only to realize I hadn't thought for a second to install a trigger wire (This is what communicates to the head unit the car is in reverse/to activate the camera mode). Thankfully, I didn't need to redo any wiring. The power cable had an extra wire for triggers, and the video cable has wires on each end for the trigger. So, I simply connected the wires together, and it worked! The camera looks great, has very good parking lines built in, and was a very well put-together kit.

Myra: So far a good product for the money. Yhe directions did not address how to hook up one of the wires in the plug. I had to use a battery on my work bench to test it and figure it out. If the directions were done correctly I would have given a 5. Regarding the camera, bracket, and hardware I am happy. Good buy if your handy and don't mind a few extra minutes of trouble shooting.

TJ S.: I like the camera and it has some distortion that is manageable, but the one thing I'm concerned about is the LED light on the camera. It's quite bring, and could be distracting to those behind. Maybe the manufacturer can put a shield on the design so the light doesn't shine at eye level behind the vehicle.

Justin Smith: The camera is waterproof and has held up well in various weather conditions. Installation was straightforward, but the cable length could be longer for larger vehicles. Overall, it's a reliable backup camera that provides peace of mind while reversing. I have used this camera for around 1 year with no issues.

Verified user: License plate brackets does not fit license plate holes in British Columbia and the unit does not send an image to the head unit. It switches to receive the image and only gives a black screen. The same 12v reverse wire powers the camera and switches the image on the head unit so the camera is verified to be getting power.

ShinuShinu: First of all their advertising says that it comes with manual but i did not receive any product manual with box. So now i have to work by my own and figure it out how to connect all the wire. After so many searches and looking videos online, finally i was able to connect it and it worked. Was so exited but my excitement got over immediately when i was about to park my car in reverse. Oh boy the guidelines are so so off.. i almost hit the other car. You can see in the picture. The purple lines are where my car should be but the guidelines are not anywhere near it supposed to be. Totally disappointed. As i dont have user manual so i dont know if you can adjust the guidelines. Total waste. My previous camera was half of the price compared to this one and it lasted about 3 years and guidelines were so accurate for that. This one is garbage. Wasted my time and money. Never buy this
