Liron: Love this little portable cooling unit. Super lightweight and easy to move around. This was a lifesaver in the heat wave. Sleek and small and easy to put away. The only downside is, the cooling radius is pretty small, but it did its job. Would recommend buying one for each side of the bed if using in your bedroom

Serge: Great portable unit! Just make sure you size it right for your room in order to achieve the desired cooling.

Kat: Waste of money. The air cooler didn't even cool a single degree in my tiny bedroom. I had to run out to the nearest home depot to get a proper air conditioner. The function and quality of this machine was just the same as a fan so it is basically just an overpriced fan. Do not buy! It is not as advertised!

Elle R. Lothlorien: I live in the Rocky Mountain foothills in Colorado, where the humidity is very low, typically under 25%. Evaporative coolers work really, really well here. Upon receiving the unit, my first impressions were: 1) it didn't cool as much as I expected (and as many reviewers claimed); 2) the unit didn't run through gallons of water in mere hours, (a complaint that many reviewers from similarly dry areas of the country had). It took over a week for a full tank to evaporate, but I just chalked it up to my expectations being too high. Today, following company servicing recommendations, I removed the filter from the back to clean it, and I found that the honeycomb pad underneath it was *bone-dry.* I removed the pad and that's when I realized that 1) the water pump wasn't working; 2) the tubing running from the pump was so short that the pump dangled about four inches above the bottom of the tank, meaning that, unless the tank was filled at least halfway, the water couldn't even reach the pump! Of course, running a water pump with no water will burn it out but, as I bought the unit through a vendor called Warehouse Deals, I'm guessing that the pump never worked, and that's...

TomTom: I absolutely loved this cooler. I've been using it in my RV with a ton of success, especially while I'm down south in the desert. However, yesterday I turned it on and heard a pop. It stopped working completely. So I looked inside and found a burnt out electrical circuit. When running, this cooler would get extremely hot on top. I really want to get another since I liked it so much, but if it only lasts a couple months it's not worth it to me.

I'm really sad, because I think it's an awesome cooler, but the short circuit is enough to bring this rating down to 1star for me.

Edit: The part that broke was a resistor. I have some minor skills in electrical soldering, so I figured I would take a chance with it. The old resistor was a 3 watt. So I tried a 5 watt and somehow managed to repair the section of the circuit board that burnt out. Since changing to 5 watt, this cooler has been working magnificently. In the Arizona heat it cools my conversion van about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. I use it all the time and now the top doesn't get hot. It can run for hours without over heating. The plastic that it's made from is also very durable, so if it falls over...

Sarah3: This product only cools a very small area (which it basically stated) but it ends up not being much better than the Hawaiian Breeze Standing fan I purchased a few years ago. The workmanship leaves a little to be desired as the fill area slot gets stuck if you close it so you basically have to leave it open. Otherwise is is okay - very quiet.

Stack⠀OverflowStack⠀Overflow: First off, I will point out that this unit is a Swamp Cooler (also known as an Evaporative Air Cooler), ** NOT ** an Air Conditioner. I couldn't help but notice after reading through many Swamp Cooler reviews written by other customers that many people (1) simply don't know the difference between the two, and (2) don't know that Swamp Coolers will work well ONLY in DRY climates (where the relative humidity is 40% or less a good part of the day).

Therefore, before I jump into the review on this product, I feel it's necessary to address: (1) the difference between a Swamp Cooler and an AC and (2) whether a Swamp Cooler will work in the climate in your area.

If you're well-acquainted with Swamp Coolers, you may wish to skip the following sections titled "The Difference Between A Swamp Cooler and an AC" and "Will A Swamp Cooler Work For You?" and dive right into reading the actual product review under the section titled "Review of the Honeywell CSO71AE 15 Pt.
