Aisha Sheikh: Loved the story and the plotline. The new characters and how they were woven together with the old one's. The different awful aspect of history that was shown here, which our Cora won over with her strength and bravery. Loved it and hope to read more.

Carol Bufala: I enjoyed this very much but was surprised when they all didn’t accuse Cotswold of being a witch! Even with all his armor on he floated in the water proving, He’s the real witch .

TeeJay: Highlander Warrior by Rebecca Preston is the second book in her Highlander in Time series and while I loved the first book this one was off for me.
Maybe it was Lord Cotswold back again and up to old tricks or that it focused solely on his witch hunt. He may be banished but as the Terminator said "I'll be back". Other than that it was a solid 3.9 story for the time travel and love story between Ian and Cora.
Cora Wilcox has missed her BFF Audrina but on her way home from work she has an accident that lands her in Medieval Scotland almost run over by Ian and his horse. When told he's trying to find a midwife Cora offers her services to deliver the babies. After both arrive into the world Cora will need to know the story behind the missing Bellina, midwife and herbalist. But when she's suspected of being Bellina/witch the Inquisitors are called in. Will she be able to convince them she's really just a midwife or will she drown? Can Ian help her survive and will they be able to make a life together?

Jo Dolan: During this horrendous time in our history no women or man in some places, were safe from the inquisitions. The author has written not one but two intertwined stories that have captured the fear and pain of two female healers transported back in time to fourteenth century Scotland. I'll not ruin the story for you but I'd definitely recommend Rebecca Prestons highland series so far. Happy Reading 😀 (this is book 2)

Carol: No no a million times no. This is the second book by this author that I have tried and I just cannot finish it. I managed to get to about one third of the way but would rather walk on glass than finish it.

Kindle Customer: Cora is a midwife still relling with the dessaparence of her friend Audrina, 2 years ago. Somehow she is thrust to a ancient Scotland time where she comes open Ian, second in command, urgently looking for a midwife. And here starts a amazing adventure where she will have to face the inquisition and their horrific tactics. Great read packed with adventure, tension, intrigue, danger and romance. Highly recommended

Cora missed her friend. She has been missing going on 2 years tonight. And all she wants to do is go home and eat ice cream. Nope. She has to go to a funeral, for a client of hers that has lost their baby.
Ian is on his way the village, his lord's wife is in labor and he needs to get the midwife. But all of a sudden his horse kicked him off in the middle of the road. Now he is sitting on the forest floor looking at this lass as she runs off to get his wayward horse.
I enjoyed this book. I read book 1 about a year ago. For some reason, I lost track of this series. Now I get to READ it instead of waiting for the next books to come out. I had the privilege of renting this book with my KU account and I also used one of my credits on Audible account. Now the reason I was so excited to lessen to a book LIKE this is, I knew I was going to hear the wonderful Highlander accent. But sadly that was NOT the case. For about the first three chapters then it stopped. But I still enjoyed the experience. So I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18. If you like a story with plot, drama, character development, and yes SEX...

Rita M. Cole: Really great read, the storyline was great, and the characters, were so realistic and enjoyable. Nice to meet the characters again from the previous book.

Maureen Mary: Loving historical romance and not minding time travel, I bought both books in this series. I just read both. I don't mind typos nor a scholar's lack of historical detail, but book 1 puts us in Scotland of 1304 with a second brother named Alistair and book 2 is set 100 or so years later with no second brother and a cousin named Ian. The characters keep talking about going back to the 21st century, but it never seems to matter thay have no clue how to get back. The characters except for Ian and where is poor Alistair are the same.
Both Maeve and Cora's dream sequences are vile and gory in their graphic descriptions, but the rest of it which deals with
the witch hunts and the inquisition are like a stand up comedy routine. The romance is so very shallow, the love scenes were a disconnect with the lack of feeling between the characters - there seemed more deep feelings between the horse and the heroine.
I would like to believe there is a hell where the tormentors of the innocent meet the fate they delivered upon their victims
whether in the name of God or their own deviant beliefs, but here it is like a game to outwit the inquisitors.
I cannot reconcile myself to the...

Lindsey: Is it possible to like the second book maybe more than the first book? Cora is thrust back in time to help her friend just in the knick of time. Which is also when she happens to run into Ian. Their love grows and has to overcome challenges not only with her time travel but the evils that haunted them before return.
This book was much easier to read as I feel the Scottish writing was toned down a bit making it flow smoothly.
