Kathleen Hawkins: Wow, what an epic story. This book had everything. Adventure, romance, loyalty, family, war, peace. Hard to put the book down and stop reading.
I loved it and can’t wait to dive into the concluding book.

Elizabeth LaFond: The author does an amazing!of taking you along Hervor's life. The ups and downs, the battles, wins and losses, every emotion is felt through the authors words sucking you in.

LF: Trials and tribulations at every turn see Hervor and Hofund fight the mighty Sea Kings and navigate the cesspit that is Grund. Battles are won and lost, warriors travel the path to Valhalla and enemies become friends. This is an excellent series told in the story telling style of the Skalds. 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Dallass: I’ve been devouring this series. Love Hervor and how she always tries to do what is right and just for her people, and even Hofund has grown on me. Their journey is almost at an end, and I after the heartbreaks of this book, I can’t wait to see where the Gods take them.

Shannon B.: I really enjoy escaping into this series so much and the latest book is no exception. I was actually devastated that the book was over and I’d have to wait until May for the next one. I love this unique take on the Viking saga. Hervor is such a great character. Yes, she’s an amazing fighter, but more importantly, she cares for people. She goes out of her way to help others, even those who might be a threat to her. She rebuilds pig pens for poor old widows and takes in orphaned children. I love all the relationships in these books. I have certainly enjoyed the male-focused Viking fare of the Last Kingdom series and more, but it’s just wonderful to read from a women’s perspective. Women fighters are also mothers and friends. These books definitely pass the bechtel test! There is quite a lot of the Gods’ involvement for historical fiction, but just remember, that is exactly how people believe in those days - people really believed that they were speaking to the Gods, seeing signs of them, and that Midgard was just one of the nine worlds that lay so close together. Also, I had read the original Hervor’s saga and was inspired by it, one of the few sagas about a women...
