Katslovesbooks: Keri Lake definitely knows how to deliver an epic gothic romance, I picked up the audiobook and I immediately became invested in this love story that defies everyone and everything.

This book goes between past and present, giving you little pieces of what now are Jericho Van Croix and Farryn.

Farryn has many questions regarding her life, the disappearance of her father and after many strange things happening lately she goes looking for answers but what she finds is literally out of this world in a place named Nightshade

Jericho is feared by many, a half angel half demon, he is an enigma to many including Farryn, but what they can't deny their intense attraction and connection they feel to each other.

There are so many things happening in this story, Keri Lake gave us a phenomenal unique plot with all the dark and gothic vibes, all the feelings on this book, the places and characters she described, there is nothing in this book I didn't enjoy, the only thing I would recommend is to go in bling, trust me there is nothing that will prepare you for this.

Ella: The storyline and characters in this book were quite unique. I am not sure how much Keri Lake based the town of Praecepsia on reality, but the way she spun the entire story was fascinating.
I would recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone wanting to dive into a beautiful, passionate love story that crosses worlds and timelines.
There are some darker scenes, however, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip those. Otherwise, if you are looking to see how deeply the "anti-hero" can love, to the point of burning the world down for their partner, you'll like this a lot.

What an incredible mind Keri Lake has. I absolutely LOVE this book. Dark, haunting, romantic, sexy mysterious. Keri’s writing and storytelling is immaculate.
The pacing in this is Perfect. Good pacing is something that I really appreciate in a book and when there is a lot of world building that needs to be done and many facets to a story, I think some books can easily leave you feeling confused or things can drag and you’re just waiting for something to happen but with Nightshade every page from start to finish had me engaged.

TatiannaTatianna: I am editing this review after reading Nightshade for the third time this year. I decided to re-read it before Infernium, and holy infernal lands, it was just as spectacular as the first time. This book gives me legitimate chills -- I am sitting here dumbfounded as to how Keri Lake created such a masterpiece. 5 stars could never be enough.

Keri Lake's writing is always incredible, and this book is no exception. The world-building is intricate and extensive, though not overwhelming. Nightshade is a genius landscape that is both chilling and enchanting. It's a place where suffering is pervasive and obscure and lost souls are not even aware that they are lost. Experiencing it through Farryn's eyes had me on the edge of my seat and so invested in her journey. The plot is brilliant and checks all the boxes for me: angels/demons, paranormal romance, enemies to lovers, fated lovers, commentary on religion and morality, multiple timelines and POVs, a quest for the truth and an ancient prophecy, as well as flawless smut (I must say... I will never look at a bell tower the same way). I mean, come on.

Julia R.: Nightshade foi uma experiência de leitura bastante única para mim e estou muito feliz por ter esbarrado nela. A escrita foi muito envolvente e eu adorei como Keri Lake lentamente criou este mundo com tantos detalhes e complexidade. A visão de Lake sobre o fanatismo religioso foi muito interessante e gostei de como ela foi desenvolvida ao longo do livro.

A construção do mundo, em geral, foi maravilhosa. Considerando que este romance tem mais de 600 páginas no Kindle, Lake teve muito tempo para trabalhar nisso e estabelecer o mundo em torno dos personagens principais. Todo o conceito de Nightshade, como funcionava, o que representava e quem residia lá era tão legal e um pouco assustador! E foi divertido ler sobre os anjos não serem os melhores dos seres kkkkk

Também me descobri gostando muito da perspectiva de múltiplos pontos de vista e de como Lake usou uma narrativa não linear para desenvolvê-los. Normalmente tenho um grande problema com narrativas que mudam do passado para o presente, já que acabo ficando muito mais interessada em uma história do que na outra e isso atrapalha o fluxo para mim, mas foi tão bem feito aqui.
