Rachel: I have been painting the metal inset area where my laundry room hot & cold water supply are. Because it was enamel paint & had to dry overnight, I forgot to put it back in the water discharge chute back into place, prior to using my wash machine. I was quietly working at my desk when heard the alarm beeping go off and couldn’t recall what it would be from. When I went to investigate, I saw water all over my laundry room floor as the washing machine was continuing to discharge more. I was able to quickly get the washing machine’s water discharge hose back into place and mop up the water on floor. Had I not been alerted, it would have continued to do a whole cycle of laundry, discharging more water on my tile floor and adjoining hardwood. Highly recommend this product, and will be ordering more, both for me and my elderly parents..

COCO: We purchased these to alert us to the occasional water leakage we get in the basement due to heavy rain. They do that perfectly and the alarm is very loud. They have gone off at night easily letting us know there was a problem. We placed the others by the water heater, in bathrooms and under the kitchen sink. A detector went off when our water heater started leaking and we were able to quickly shut off the water. The same detector let us know that the AC evaporator pan was clogged and leaking into the furnace.
Quick detection of any water leak is the key to limiting damage. These are cheap insurance. Bought a few sets for family too with similar experiences.

A. Amin: I wanted a great water sensor for every bathroom. Too many solutions and prices can get expensive. I spent days reading up on the different options and this came out to be the best price and great features.

I compared this to Kiddie and this was a superior option. It has alerted me several times as my kids shower and water splashes everywhere. The siren has made them take better showers.

Also the alerts to the phone (via email) and app notifications come instantly. Batteries last for years

Worth every penny. If you are considering a water sensor. This is a great choice. I think every homeowner should have one in every bathroom, next to water heater and by main house pipes.

Wallace: This is the third time I bought Govee water detector. During last month heavy rain, the sump pump stopped working. Fortunately, two water sectors around sump pit alarmed nearly the same time. We called mechanics to have it replaced immediately. So I bought another 5 detectors to monitor more places in basement. Even the manual says the gateway can only connect 10 detectors, but I have all 13 connected and they all work well.

E.F.: Anyone that’s gone through water damage will tell you this is definitely worth the time and investment. Time will tell if these devices will work down the road but what I like about this product is that there are alarms on each sensor as well as an app that will trigger email notifications and app notifications. If your Wi-Fi and power is down for some reason, you still have the alarm in each individual sensor as a fallback. As others have pointed out, the initial set up can be a bit of a pain, particularly if you were on 5G so I decided to outline the steps for my process as a Verizon FiOS customer using gigabit service and 5 GHz WiFi.

Fios Setup
First go to the FiOS app on your iPhone or android. Depending on your app set up, click on Internet (Manage your home network)/Advanced Settings/Self Organizing Network (SON) and disable it. Once you come back out to the Prior menu screen you should see both your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. In order to set up the Govee, I temporarily disabled my 5 GHz networks to avoid any issues with the device pairing. After I was done setting up the hub and pairing all sensors, I reenabled the 5 gig service.
