Christian Leboeuf: Very easy to setup and very sensitive. A resistance of 1.2Mohms is sufficient to trigger the alarm. Battery is difficult to install because tight space but by running the wires under the pc board it gives more space. A mentioned in other review, this will not work with pure water because of the high resistance of water.
I gave up on building one because the price was so low it made no sense to buy parts...

NowADad: I installed this 2 years ago in my HVAC drip pan as a back up alarm for excessive condensation. I can’t remember if I replaced the battery since then or not but last week I noticed the sound in my attic and sure enough the drip pan was filled with water and the safety float switch failed to activate. I’m so glad I have this otherwise it might have cost me hundreds or thousands of dollars for potential water damage. This works!

Slotown: This is a great little product for RV's. No need to plug it in anywhere. I would have given it a 5 star but it is extremely hard to open. Takes two screwdrivers at the same time to depress both latches. I ended up cutting one of the two latches off so it would be easier to open when the battery runs down. My other concern was the cheap china batteries. I threw them away and replaced with Energizers.

Randall W. Bell: Have been using these for a while on the farm. I have been having septic tank issues and have had a few backups. I have a couple of these suspended in the floor drain and they have caught the rise in water before there was a big problem. So far I recommend them. The only issue is the loudness, they seem very loud when you are near but may not wake you at night.

Julien S.: I bought these and placed them under my sinks, toilet and washer just as a precaution in case of a leak. I prefer to spend a little money (and these are cheap) and have a warning system that I can resolve before it gets costly. I had two of them go off to warn me of a leak from a sink (which I fixed right away) and one from my washer which had a small leak (which never happened again but I know to keep an eye on). They are very loud and you will hear them when they go off. Battery life is about a year like smoke detectors. The battery door is a little tough to open for some. Just a warning for you guys, when the battery gets low it will start doing a constant low noise, change the batteries right away or take the battery out completely. I was away one weekend and one of them had a low battery noise go off and by the time I got home and change the battery, the sensor was stuck on that constant low alarm noise… That’s why I always buy a spare. I have to mention that I do have more expensive wireless/notification water sensors for critical areas as the water tank and sump pump. But these are a less expensive and good option as well. All in all, satisfied. Hope this helps.

Cindy M.: the design for water detection is good as the body of the unit is mounted up off the floor and the water sensor is placed flat on the floor for water detection. this design is good as the alarm body does not get wet and will continue to sound until you hear it. the alarm is shrill. this unit is a better design than the Honeywell model one-piece unit that will short out once the water submerses it. This Instapark model is very difficult to open to install the battery. I would recommend that you duct tape the battery case closed and leave a folded flap on the edge of the tape, so that you can quickly and easily remove the battery to replace it. You will also want to get quick access to the battery to be able to shut off the alarm. it is very shrill. i purchased the 3-pack of these and tested each one once the battery was installed. i just placed the sensor onto a bit of water on the counter. it instantly shrilled. please wear earplugs when testing. i wiped the water off and the alarm stopped. i am glad i tested prior to sticking the units to the wall under the sink as one of the units was defective. I have 2 out of 3 that work so it is still a good deal for the package price. I am...

just-in-timejust-in-time: When you receive the detectors (3 in a carton) and connect the provided 9V battery, it will operate as expected sounding a loud alarm when a leak is detected. I am happy with the purchase and would certainly recommend it. However that said, the device can be mechanically improved. Permit me to explain.
When you remove the detector from the first of three plastic bags, you need to open the back cover in order to insert the battery. Here is the first challenge since it is not clear how to open it (and the meager instructions do not address this). As you'll note from one of the photos, two "tabs" at one end of the unit when closed, fit into the slots. Thus to open the back, use a small flat-head screwdriver and push the tabs down so that they clear the slots. It's not easy the first time but thereafter it's not too bad and besides, you need to do this only when replacing the 9V battery (hopefully infrequently).
Once the back cover is opened, you'll immediately note the small plastic bag containing two small screws. So it seems the manufacturer may be suggesting to use the two screws if A) you wish to have an additional closure mechanism (can't imagine why), or B) if the...
