Jorge Morfin: The coffee maker looks good and brews fine coffee at an ideal drinking temperature.. The hot plate maintains the good temperature and, actually, a timed automatic plate shutoff would be welcome in case of forgetfulness. The only slight problem is the device is so light that you can’t even open the top to pour water one handed and the device moves freely when removing/placing the carafe.

Fredrick R. O'keefe: Four cups is just right for my morning coffee craving. It's made to brew that amount, so it is 'fine-tuned' for that. No waste; coffee is just right in strength and temperature. The hot plate auto turn-off is a biggie. I need no timer. I can recommend this model.
Amazingly, Gevi includes the most extensive manual (27 pages, all English) I've seen for such a simple appliance. Kudos.

M. Mercado: I was pleasantly surprised by my everyday usage of this small wonder. Great Coffee flavor and all the features of a full size coffee maker. My daily coffee consists of a 12 oz cup and using my full size coffee maker was overkill. This does the job just as good if not better since the efficiency makes up for the excess in replacement filters and cleaning. I use this maker with a #2 unbleached cone paper filter vs the #4 of my full size maker. The heating plate turns off in 2 hours and it does stay very hot during that time. I am extremely happy with this purchase and I only hope that it endures the ravages of time, that's not to imply that the manufacturing is in any way defective. I sincerely and highly recommend this gem of a mini Coffee Maker.

KDKD: This is a basic coffee maker, as the price suggests. There’s no issue with that.

However, the brewing mechanism is not consistent. Specifically the drip mechanics can get stuck, causing one of two issues, or both at the same time.

* Using 4-cup paper cone filter…

First the drip will stop while there is still coffee in the filter, not filling the pot as expected. When you remove the pot to see what’s going on the coffee then begins to flow onto the warmer. Not drip but flow as there can be a lot of liquid in the filter depending on when you caught the issue.

Second, your coffee may have grounds in it because the coffee overflowed the filter, spilling into the filter basket.

What’s interesting is that you can experience one of the two above without the other, as well as both at the same time.

*Paperless filter…
I did not experience this exact issue with the included paperless filter, but it was slow to brew and threatened spillage. This filter can also be tedious to clean if you’re a person who likes a ‘clean looking’ filter for every brew. I did not use this filter much for these reasons.

I am rating the Gevi 4 cup...

John H.: There is a small print entry away from the specification saying that a USA import may have a different specification but I expected that if a USA import was supplied it would be a dual voltage version complete with a USA to UK adaptor, I thought this was a requirement for selling in the UK. What arrived only had a USA plug and stated on it that 120V 60Hz is required. I had bought this for and had it delivered directly to my parents in their 90's fortunately I spoke to them before they got the adaptor they planned and tried to run it of the UK mains 240V 50Hz I shudder to think of what may have been the result. We now have to get this to a UPS pickup point to return it so I suspect I will be going from Gloucestershire to Leicestershire to do this. I expect far better from Amazon UK.
