ljvirgo: I have kept the piece because it is well made and I like the style itself. However, I realized after the fact that lifting the top and replacing it often means you will touch the stick of butter on the dish, getting butter on the cover - which is messy looking and that annoys me. I have to be particularly careful replacing the lid to avoid this. Definitely more narrow than other dishes.

Stomperdell: This butter dish holds a full stick of butter and looks very nice with any table setting. It is easy to put through the dishwasher and still looks like new. We have ordered two of these so far. One didn't survive falling on our tile floor but that was totally my fault -- so clumsy!

pianogod: Glass is just a super material, yes, it breaks easy, but if you take care of it, it last forever, is non toxic, not cheap, but luxurious and heavy, kinda like a shiny gem in any shape you like. It also cleans perfect, you can use acid and it won't be harmed by it (dishwasher) and, it is inexpensive. And yet, super hard.
