Carolyn Oliver: I Have read all of her books Some even more than once! Through out her stories I laugh and I cry! I love the way she connects her stories with characters in one book and later give that character his own stories! I am always looking for her next new book!

HOTBABE: Im devastated! Why kill my favourite hero??!! He was no.1 to me! I want him to live forever😭😭😭!
Second is De Reussse, followed by De Wolfe and last is De Lorh( because I loathe his deceitful wife Dustin). I was literally crying the whole night! This was a continuation of the previous book but still the question why it took two months for them to reveal his death to Cassian was not mentioned or did i miss reading it?? I love the heroine here. She was the perfect match to Julian. She is level headed and sincere! But back to Jax i want more backstory about him!! He fascinates me! As well as Kellington my best super her for taming the beast!

GYG: What a lovely story I am sad that there is no more Jax De Velt. The characters are strong and and some are just out to get what they want to hell with who gets hurt, but all will be good in the end they De Velt after all. Recommend you read this book

Debbie Brown: Heiress Lista de la Mere needs a husband after losing her father and brother. She’s now left dealing with a troubling mother and aunt who are looking for her husband with fortune to keep them and their addictions. Lista’s mother decides she’s the perfect bride for her Kellington Coleby de Velt’s son, Julian.
Julian de Velt is a hardened warrior just like his father Ajax, but he’s also is gentle, shy and insecure around especially Lista. Julian doesn’t know what to think of feisty young who’s unafraid to reprimand him or his warriors. He seems quite smitten with her until he finds she has a different plan and he backs away from the woman he’s starting to fall in love with.
Katheryn’s has done an excellent job of showing us the battle hardened warrior this story is very emotional and well written. It’s especially hard to read the story of Jax’s death and how Julian feels responsible. Have a box of tissues ready for this book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent book.

The prologue finally gives us what happened to the great Jax de Velt that will truly bring tears to your eyes. As I have said before, when an author can do that, you know her writing is powerful.

His son, Julian, feels a strong responsibility for his death, but as fierce and strong as he is as a knight, inside he guards himself well against those who might look down on him. Like women. That is until he meets Lista.

Lista has lost her father and brother, but has gained an unruly mother and aunt, who she has had to devote most of her time to, trying to keep them out of trouble.

But when she meets Julian, his sister and mother, her life will change.

Sit back and enjoy this story that will leave you with a sigh and a smile..

This book was amazing. I could not wait for this book to come out and felt like it took forever from the time I pre-ordered until it came out. I have enjoyed the DeVelt series and was beyond excited for this latest installment. What I was wholly unprepared for, was the Prologue. Having lived this part of the story line from afar in Dark Conquerer, living it in real time in the installment was another level of heart break. I was not prepared for emotional onslaught. This speaks to two things. The way Kathryn writes her characters makes them real to the reader, you become invested in them, their stories, their families. Secondly, it speaks to the depth at which she writes.
I loved Julian's story, such a sweet knight with a big heart but extremely guarded. It has always taken an extraordinary women to handle a DeVelt and Lista was no different. The way they meet and the brow beating she gives lets you know from the beginning these two will be an interesting development. I truly enjoyed the large part that Addington/Cole and Kellington played in this story. As a normal family, your business is never your own and this story had all the sibling...

CHRISTOPHER ARTHUR: As always Kathryn delivers on these intertwined families. Julian and Lista’s story is no different. The story always pulls you in. It’s the family dynamics of these powerful yet loyal families to each other that is important. We know from a previous book that Cass has his own story with Brielle and that he comes home and says forgive me to Kellington to his Mother but in this book all she hears is that he’s alive. It would be great if Kathryn could carry on that storyline intertwined with another family member and from Kellington’s perspective after he arrives with Brielle. Back to this story it has everything , Lista dealing with a difficult Mother & Aunt to Julian dealing with his own insecurities. I never get tired of reading about all these families and once started I never want to put the book down until it’s finished even to the exclusion of cooking dinner ! I always pre-order every book that comes from this era and the families involved. And what’s more there are so many off spring from each family the stories are there for hopefully years to come …..I have every single one and have re-read them in between waiting for the next one !! Carry on Kathryn...

Texas Daughter: Julian was in charge of his family and had been since the death of his father at the hand of King John. Today, was a shopping trip into Berwick for his mother and sister. As luck or fate would have it, this trip ends with a huge misunderstanding.
Lista Rose de la Mere was not happy. She dreaded each visit to town with her mother and aunt, where they always seemed to find the “herbs” they needed. Only this trip puts all three of them in the path of the men of Pelinom. After a brief argument, Lista, her mother and aunt accept the apologies and make plans to visit.
Unfortunately, two older ladies are addicted to drugs and Lista has reached her limits. Julian is enamored of the beautiful Lista and is happy with an opportunity to spend time with her. What they don’t know, is Lista’s aunt is determined to make her way back to Court no matter whose happiness she needs to sacrifice.
This was another great book in the ongoing saga of the de Velt descendants!

WOW!
This book blew me away, from the Prologue onwards I was emotionally involved in every page.
I’ve read many of Kathryn’s books and can honestly say that this one made me ugly sob, if your a big fan, then when you read it you’ll find out why.

The epilogue is a beautiful picture of a terrible and dark day for the de Velt family.
The rest of the book is outstanding and I can’t say when I’ve read a character that has made me so emotionally involved with his journey.

By the end, yes I was drained, but also elated and satisfied too,
I couldn’t read another book for a day or two, as this one wouldn’t leave my thoughts.
That’s the sign of a brilliant book to me.
Outstanding writing and reading!!
