Cuisinart DGB-400 12-Cup Automatic Grind & Brew Coffeemaker

Amazon Customer: I had this model but had to replace it after many years. The new model is slightly different in that the grinder sends the beans down to the filter to brew. This does make an extra step for clean up as the old model had the grinder built into the filter. That is my only complaint. Otherwise, the coffee is piping hot for hours in the thermal carafe. The grinder does its job so I don't need a second step in the morning coffee ritual. The coffee tastes great and the program feature is handy when you need it. I hope it lasts as long as my previous one. Lastly, the carafe does not drip when I pour a cup of coffee like other coffee makers.

En ocasiones el cafe se desborda, pero debe ser tambien por.el filtro que uses. Es necesario un filtro grande yo uso los melita y lo corto un poco para que entre bien
Funciona muy bien espero dure mucho.

Ken: Over the years I have tried making coffee with various K cup machines including other Cuisinarts with pods and grind your own k cup dispensers (e.g. Java Jig), grind and drip using a caraffe, conventional drip coffee with paper filter etc to find a flavor that I was looking for and that was effortless and fast for a household solo coffee drinker. Lets face it k cup coffee lacks flavor and freshness that you get from a of a drip type maker or or drip cafaffe with your own beans. Well the cuisinart single serve is the best compromise I have seen. Grinding beans is easy and quick (and quite quiet compared to my stand alone grinder) and the custom grind housing is easy to insert/remove and clean - something I find extremely useful. Putting the holder in and out for the custom grind or k cup canister is simple and both are easy to clean - something that has always bothered me with other dual purpose k cup/grind machine. It makes good coffee with a pod or custom grind although I prefer grinding my own. The features are barebones - no timers/extra strong blend/clock features etc which actually is an asset.
Ok so the negatives - the grinder is a bit messy leaving...

Violeta: Es un muy buen producto a muy buen precio, solo le cambiaría el seguro que detiene el filtro ya que no es lo suficientemente fuerte y se bota, pero lo solucioné usando unas cuñas de cartón.

AEPR: Es muy buena cafetera. Se puede moler café y servir taza de tres distintos niveles: expresso, americano y doble. Para mejor experiencia hay que elegir el grano para cada uno.

Solo sirve una taza por carga, por lo que hay que limpiar la cápsula reutilizable y repetir el proceso.

ILIANA RIOS: Me gustó mucho, solo que después de usarla hay que limpiarla bien porque en el recipiente del molino acumula agua me imagino que es el vapor de cuando sale el agua caliente. Además la forma de la jarra no permite que al final se vacíe completamente, siempre queda un poquito de café o de agua de cuando se lava, también el filtro no se me hace necesario cuando usas agua purificada o de garrafón porque el sabor del café sabe igual con filtro que sin filtro.

Ethan Wells: So I purchased this to replace my Cuisinart CHW-12 Coffee Plus 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Hot Water System, Black/Stainless. I was very pleased with the *coffeemaker* component of this latter (its hot water system being another matter), and was looking for a similar coffeemaker that also had a grind and brew function. I have had it now for just shy of a year, and am almost entirely pleased with it. Let me address the pros and cons, both as I see them and as they have been discussed in other reviews:

Pros:
(1) This coffeemaker is able to produce an excellent cup of coffee in very little time.
(2) The grind function allows you to control precisely how much coffee you want ground. Other models - such as the Krups KM7005 Grind and Brew coffeemaker - essentially have a reservoir for beans that are ground according to your selection of coffee-strength. Effectively, this means it uses a timer to determine how much coffee to grind. In my experience, this resulted in an imperfect and - more importantly - inconsistent cup of coffee.
