Calphalon Premier Stainless Steel 8-Inch Fry Pan - Perfect for Cooking and Frying

MJSfoto1956: So ordered an 8" Calphalon Premiere skillet from Amazon at a decent price. It came today. However, in spite of it sporting the original packaging, it had clearly been used by someone previously as it had the tell-tale "yellow tint" of leftover cooked-on oil on both the insides and outsides. It also had tell-tale scratches of having been used on a gas stovetop where the grate met the bottom of the pan. No matter, a bit of Bartender's Friend and it cleaned right up -- almost good as new. Still, this should have been sold as used, not new. Bad on Amazon. Note that I have a full set of Calphalon Premiere stainless cookware (ordered directly from Calphalon btw.) and I'm a big fan of their products. As with all popular items with Amazon Prime that can be returned-no-questions-asked, caveat emptor. In case you are wondering, I've decided to keep the skillet in spite of the deception 'cause it's going to get a nice patina from my use anyway!

Mychul: Good heat distribution, good "Stainless" material. The bottom stained and has permanent brown blotches no matter how intense I apply cleaning or degreasers. Overall, a great pan for starters with stainless steel.

Prof. JV: This is the first high quality set of cookware I purchased, and I am thoroughly impressed. They feel like a quality product with a good heft, have glass lids (no more guesswork about what's going on inside), have remarkable heat distribution, and are very easy to clean. I can put a larger pan on a small burner and the pan will heat up evenly without any noticeable hot or cold spots. I only wish the Premier line had more options to purchase. I bought everything they had except the pasta insert, thinking I didn't need it. As it turns out, I wouldn't mind purchasing it as well just to round out the collection. However, the insert is sold out everywhere I look. Too bad. But anyway, if you're looking for good quality, durable, high-performing cookware, you can't go wrong with Calphalon.

Diane S.: Cooked up some scrambled eggs in a little butter this morning and not a sticky spot in the pan. Cleaned up beautifully too. There is a slight learning curve with stainless steel cookware (don’t use high heat, heat before adding oil according to manufacturer, etc.). The price is a little steep but as I’m replacing a 20-year old Calphalon set not too bad. Overall I’m very satisfied and recommend this pan.
