MattB: It misunderstands our 15 year old foster child (who only speaks Spanish) sometimes. I think she is having to use plainer or more common words in order to get her point across. All in all a good device but the discounted price is in line with a discount device.

Mario Boisvert: Well, the idea is great and I hope it will improve. The device can only process one sentence at a time. Otherwise, the result is partial. However, it could be a good help when in need to speak a few words at a time, like at the restaurant, airport, shopping, etc. Or, great tool to learn other languages on your own ! But, to translate an ongoing conversation, not really with this one. :-)

Michael J. B.: To start with, it does a decent job of translating (based on the test of Pilipino, Spanish, and German). Seems to drop some words from the phrases spoken on occasion, but overall the translations are understandable.

Where the unit fails is the fact you CAN'T log into any wi-fi sources that have a "space" in the password. That's right, the virtual keyboard does NOT have a "space" option! For where we are using the device, it would require the entire company to change the wifi password just to use in our office. I can just imagine the frustration of travel and finding out the device is useless because you can't log onto the local wi-fi.
That leads to a 2nd glitch. Even when you are connected to wi-fi, the device doesn't seem to work unless "agent mode" is enabled...when they specifically tell you that is not recommended.
Lastly the instructions (very tiny manual), contain information about modes that don't even apply to this device model.

ASmileFaceASmileFace: The media could not be loaded.  Both my son and I am now using this tiny translator device every day to learn a new language, play for fun, or to assist my accounting job. It has brought me a lot closer to my clients and gave me more confidence that nothing was being misunderstood or taken out of context. It not only translates fairly well in most cases but slang as well. What is even better is that it writes everything on the touch screen clearly so that you are able to check, and saves everything that is being translated until you delete it. This is great to use as a reference or instant dictionary for later. The battery life is quite impressive too. It is small enough to fit in your small pocket as well. Worth the money, no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended!
