Nancy: After a year, our HD has quit. I am trying to contact the customer service number and email in the booklet that came with the product and both are no longer in service. or temporarily out of service. My question is can I just hook up an external hard drive and continue to use my system because the cameras are still working just fine, I just cannot record. A feature I need.

Alex: Down sides: Not a whole lot of range, user interface is irritating for playback, playback phone app has ads.. Frequent disconnection of wireless cameras, seemingly at random. Difficulty logging into app. Facial recognition is meh at best, and motion recognition is basically nonexistent, at night. Had a vandal roaming my property for 5 minutes, early morning, not a single camera notified me.

Plus sides: they're easy enough to install. Infrared lights are relatively powerful. System is cheap. Rollover recording, and 3tb hdd stores about a month of footage from 8 cams.

Tyler: Been locked out and not able to view video backup for longest time. Keeps saying my password is incorrect. Can never get ahold of anyone to help me because of the time difference. Sent numerous emails and no response back.
Not impressed with customer service at all.

Kent: I just received the SAFEVANT (NVR + 4 cameras), here is my review:
- Quick delivery (as scheduled)
- Very good picture resolution (camera)
- Instructions need to be improved (difficult to install using provided printed user manual)
- Great customer service (thank you Joy)
- NVR to Router connection should be upgraded to wireless connection

Grant Hallman: This looks like a pretty good system, with one big caveat.
Pros:
- worked right out of the box, every camera paired
- decent signal strength - 20+ meters and thru walls
- adequate User Interface
- easy install
- love the flip screen

Cons:
The system keeps resetting itself at random times. First few times it actually stopped recording. Started up again when i recycled the power, but the whole point of having a NVR is that it's recording All The Time! If it's not doing that, i can't trust it to record when it really needs to.
The tech support folks wondered if i would please try it with a beefier power supply (3A vs the factory 2A unit). Wait - does that mean it's shipped with an inadequate power supply?!? And i'm supposed to have a spare 3A supply in a drawer?
Turns out i kinda did - an old 2.67A power supply from the 1990's, same voltage (i measured it).. After another few days running on that, it still kept resetting itself, but it restarted with little or no loss in recording. Then i ordered a 5A supply from amazon (ASIN B06Y64QLBM). Since then, same self-resets, but less often and always restarts on its own without loss of recording.

jw: I have been very pleased with the camera system so far. Video is clear and shows good detail both day and night. The motion detect takes a little playing with to keep it from alerting on areas or animals you are not worried about, i.e. vehicles passing on the road at night with the headlights on will be detected from of the shadows moving as the vehicle passes even with it focused for movement on the driveway. Easy enough to fix once you figure out what is happening, just move the movement detect area further away from the entrance.

A few things I do wish were different:
1. The video files, each time motion is detected it is written to a file. If you have a lot of movement you will have MANY of these files since it writes a file for each instance of movement. I would prefer it write them all to one for for the day so there would only one file to download and view. I had 29 to go through to find what I was looking for and that was for a 4 hour period.
2. A setting on the NVR to put the screen to sleep for certain times such as at night but yet wake up when motion is detected.
3. A setting allowing the NVR to backup the video files to a NAS drive on my local network...

Susana D.: Hi , I am still trying out this set of cameras .
I am not a tech support and it is a difficult to understand the videos this people sent you.
It is being hard to call customer support. There is a huge different of time and when I call it being so late here is Canada. Not convenience for that. Perhaps they should have here a call Center so consumer call call any time , that would be very convenience . But it will be very important to keep in mind to have people like Melody, she is very knowledgeable.
It is hard to speak to her , she speak a good English . I tried taking to Kathy and someone else but it was not the same experience as Melody. She knows very well the cameras .
I have a lot issues with the imagen and I still would like their help . I have sent email and done several phone calls but for more than a week and they have not call me back:(.
I need technical support and I have hope they can help me to overcome the problem I am experiencing with the problem with blurriest and focus.
The person that is still taken stuff from my yard can not be identified even though I know is them(neigboard ) but I need to have clear evidences ( images). I believe they are...

Doggyluver5: I really like this system. In these uncertain times we decided that we needed more security. This fills the bill for providing a good surveillance system so we are aware of what is going on around our property at all times. It was very easy to set up (we are both seniors 70+) and the hardest part was putting up the cameras outside. To start we connected the NVR to WiFi and then plugged in the cameras. Immediately they came online. I just followed all the directions in the manual to do the set up and presto it was all done Then I just downloaded the app from the APP store from iPhone and we could get notifications when activity occurred and also could watch our property even when away from home. We've only had it set up a few days and haven't had any inclement weather and it is summer but so far everything is working just as advertised.
