David Swanson: Handy vice if you work in the field. Not quite as weather proof as they make it out to be however. Certain parts rust. Vice is a little sloppy, but very much useable for most of the work I do. I wouldn't want to crank down with a lot of force. For the most part I am very content with having purchased this vice, and probably would buy it again should I loose or break the current one.

Jeremy: I paid hard earned money, I did not receive the product for my honest review :)
I really like the design and powder coat finish on them, very nicely done.
Here is the problem, I have had 3 of them and they all have some different issues. I don't expect this to be equal to a $1200 machinist vise, but there are some things that bothers me.
The first one I received makes a gritty sound and the jaw extends with a wobbly action, not a good sign, the jaws are a little out of parallel.
the second one have a little trouble getting a snug fit in the receiver included, the set screw is extended out enough, it seems the casting isn't straight enough to install snugly like the first one. (if I set the screw out far enough, the vise won't insert more than half way)
the latest one I ordered from amazon, have the least issues, the jaw comes out with the least grinding noise and no play, but the pipe jaw barely clamps a 1" O.D. pipe before the main jaw closes, and the specs is 3/4" inch minimum. The previous vise clamps the pipe tight with room to spare, I suspect the casting is inconsistent.
I still like it and it looks great, and it is something I can take with me...

texasfireparamedic: Mounted it on the back of of my flatbed truck. Have not had a chance to use it much. It is solid product clamping force seems very good. It has been sitting out in the rain and has not rusted yet. I'm sure with further use it will eventually. Although it is painted very well. Not sure what the clamping jaws are made of but it has rained on them for the last several days and no rust. .
As for using it on a receiver hitch. I think that if you are used to bending over to use it it would be fine. I would never use it there unless it was my last option. Just my two cents.
I will give an update when more I get to use it more and send it through the paces.
Update.
Ok, Sending it through its paces. I still believe it is the best vise for a flatbed truck, not for the receiver. I would have to build a riser to use it off the receiver. Yes, it does have surface rust on the anvil after much use. Not that big of a deal. It is painted well where it counts on the slide of the dynamic jaw and placed that don't receive use. The handle has not rusted or show any signs that it will except where welding spatter stuck to it. The dynamic jaw has stayed smooth and easy to rotate. It has...

thomas bingham: I bought this to remove impellers from jet pumps on jet skies. Not a tough job on a bench vice at the shop. I’m order to remove an impeller you need to clamp the sub shaft that is double flat sided into a vise in order to spin off an impeller at about 100ft lbs of torque. This vise no matter how tight o would get it the shaft would flex the vise like nothing allowing it so spin and unable to loosen the impeller. Also the other is is the handle is fixed so if your tightening something that’s in the way of the handle coming around to the top you can’t tighten it. Not a great design, looks good but not great function…
