marcB: Product was hard and stiff to hold pressure from a vise yet has some rubbery grip to prevent slippage of anything that it’s used for.

Phantom: Fairly soft, softer than I expected. But as far as non-marring goes, it’s working as expected. My vice’s jaws are 4” not 6 but that’s not been a problem. I needed this as fluff to get free overnight shipping and it worked out well. I’ve used these several times in just a couple of weeks. Would buy again.

FuzzyPuppy: The product is fine for basic use. They are thermoplastic polyurethane. Says so on the package. Atlin website says Nylon and has for years. Why this deception I don't know. Nylon and Polyurethane have different properties more important for other industries. Here the material is more flexible and softer to hold pieces firmly without marring the finish, such as gun parts and finished materials. For torsional, or twisting use, like barrels, it may not grip sufficiently. As with steel vise jaws, the face of the jaws should be perfectly clean before clamping. Anything other than steel vise jaws are meant to protect the finish and maximum clamping force should not be used.
