Westinghouse 1702 HEPA Air Purifier: Cleaner Air for Your Home

Cooper Phillips: The media could not be loaded.  I bought this purifier because it is HSA/FSA eligible and I was intrigued by the NCCO technology which I have not seen offered on more popular purifier brands. I got this because we have cats and dogs, and live in a rural area with lots of pollen producing oak trees that leave a yellow pollen layer on everything in the springtime. I end up getting sinus infections and spend oa week or two terribly sick. The basement in my house has a damp moldy smell because the air is stagnant. I plugged this in my 12’ x 20’ basement bedroom. In an hour or so there was a very noticeable difference. When I wake up in the morning, I am no longer congested. Amazon Customer: Lightly used. Unit suddenly does not power on. Called their support hotline and no one ever answers. Left voicemails and no one calls back. Managed to speak to a "Carla" today after what must be my fiftieth call and she said they have no units to send me a new one nor is she able to offer a refund as she is "waiting on the manufacturer." Avoid this. You have been warned.

Catstar: I've been using one since July 14 and am impressed with its performance.
I am on the road in a truck camper and , being asthmatic, havebeen concerned aabout air quality. Initially, my concerns were regarding dust and pollen. Recently heavy smoke from wildfires affecting NE Washimgton have resulted in dangerous air quality for me.
I am astounded at how good the air is in the camper compared to the smoke, ash, and dust filled air outside. I can occasionally smell a hint of smoke in here after I open the door but the purifier takes it out faster than I could have hoped.
I even placed it on the bed, aimed at my face, while I sleep. I no longer wake up in the morning feeling like I've smoked a pack of cigarettes in a smoky bar.
Thank you for.this product. You have saved me from the emergency room, and have made my living conditions exponentially better.
I just ordered a second unit in case this one fails.

Souriya KhaosangaSouriya Khaosanga: I’m an air quality nerd in general and have been learning about air quality and air filtration for couple years. I’m an engineer by trade so I always do an analysis by following the numbers.

I Own plenty of high and low end filters ranging from 1000$ to 45$. All varying in quality but you might find the price isn’t always what you get these days.

This model isn’t a great one for moving air since it’s so tiny. Particulate matter is sub par compared to others in the price range. You could easily find a true hepa filter with higher CADR.

But the uniqueness of this filtration system is the Ncco. Created by an entrepreneurial group in Hong Kong—the idea is based off of catalytic oxidation. I own a pco filter and it emits ozone (I know that smell) and it doesn’t remove voc at a measurable rate.

This ncco however has surprised me after I did some controlled test. I initially smelled a bit of ozone ( as it uses activated oxygen) but that soon passed as the directions say it will smell funny but it is expected.

If you are looking for something to remove tvoc. This is an option. Better than most activated carbon...
