Stanley B. Hooper: On receipt of this air purifier, setup was very easy and quick. The most complicated part was unwrapping the filter and putting it into place - a breeze. The unit runs in "smart" mode on its own, turning on and off automatically and quietly doing its job. Even at highest speed, it's a quiet unit. The really difficult part is the instructions - they tell what each control button is but don't tell very well what they do: obfuscation seems to be their goal, or they were written by the engineers who created it and huge assumptions were made about the customers' knowledge base. We finally figured them out and are quite happy with the machine.

maryc: I have severe asthma. A family member who has cystic fibrosis recommended this particular model to me. I was very ill with all the wildfire smoke. Also, the hotter temperatures have kept me indoors with the AC running. Here is my list of the best features
1. It has a smart feature on the machine that slowly and noiselessly checks the quality of the air. There is a blue bar that stays lit up when the air is good.
2. If the machine detects any changes to the air quality, the bar turns green as it filters the air. This happens in a normal day when you open your front door. One day a neighbor down the block was mowing and it picked up that change. It filtered the air. Then it turned blue.
3. For smoke it will turn yellow or red if the air is not healthy as on the case of the smoke getting in your house.
4. It also turned yellow and/or red when I’m finished my nebulizer treatment. I had no idea those chemicals remained in the air. My dog is happy too!
5. As for noise while you are sleeping… I have PTSD and I hear just about everything at night. There is a sleep function you can choose that WORKS!

Amazon123: The best air purifier I ever own. It’s completely silent in the smart mode and the lights can all be turned off when sleeping. The APP is amazing!!! I don’t know why people complain about it, puzzles me. With the app, I’m able to control all the Coway air purifiers that I bought for my home. It gives me reports and charts to track air quality. I’m also notified of any abnormalities or drastic changes in the air. I can control my units in one screen, LOVE IT!!! The filters are pretty amazing! I noticed less dust around the house too. Also cleans out the air / smell from cooking. These units helped a lot during wildfires

Wandrwoman: I needed an air purifier that could handle a large open living/dining/entryway area in my apartment in dusty/smoggy NYC.

Since I was already very happy with a smaller capacity Coway purifier (AP-1512HH) in a bedroom, buying the Coway Airmega 250 was a no brainer.

I've had the Airmega 250 for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly, quietly (except when it goes into overdrive when I am cooking steak,) and is easy to clean and maintain.

First of all, it's fairly nice looking in a simple, unassertive way that is happy to sit quietly in the background. The smaller unit I have in the bedroom is not as attractive, IMHO.

Both units are pretty much "plug and play." They both monitor the air, automatically switching to a higher fan speed when indicated. If desired, the "Auto" function can be overridden, so the fan speed can be manually set. The 250 has an automatic "nighttime" setting that goes into a temporary sleep mode if no change of air quality is detected over a period of time. This is great if the unit is in a bedroom, though it will wake itself up if it detects an environmental change.

Busted up old fighter/ SInger-Songwriter/ Author: I did not make this purchase out of want ??? I'm very, very sick (have been for more than a year) & I needed something effective & affordable. WORST THING? I moved into new apt. only to find my ground level unit sits right next to the main drier vent. Because it's ground level, what flows in is almost impossible to get out, and hot drier air flows in & down. I almost gave up/ I did lots of research (enough to learn what I feared)??? I'll tell you what that is in a moment. You have to do deep research on a product like this/ there's so many options & most are useless (I'm sorry but it's true). I always read until I find those rare technocratic users who truly put products through their paces. THE TRUTH? Many of the high reviews for a majority of the available units are inspired by digital features (lights & listed options). It seems the old honeywell units were legit (really pulled dust, etc.)? But?
