Luis Martinho: I couldn't use the app to check sensor battery level, though it was announced, but it works well and you get the notifications in case the sensor detects water.

Hamish: Bought two of these to monitor our basement. We've had issues with water leaking from faulty plumbing and old water heaters, and this has caused us some problems in the past. It's cost a lot of money because we wouldn't notice water build-up from leaks, which would soak into carpet and lead to mold issues that were pricey to fix.

Thankfully, we found these great monitors. We wanted wi-fi connection so we could be notified via text/push notification if any water was detected whatsoever, especially if we were traveling or out of the house. So far, they work great. They are very sensitive and the second they come into contact they beep, and another second after that a notification will come through alerting us which sensor was set off. The best part is that you don't need any expensive hub or infrastructure to set them up - you can literally just buy this sensor, and you're good to go. A lot of other smart water sensors required more equipment to set up (such as Samsung's Smart Things, the Ring water detector kit, etc.).

They haven't gone offline yet like other people have complained about. We have a fairly strong Wi-Fi system (a Google mesh network) so I think that has...

Robert C Mac: I purchased 2, returned 2, received another form the company after multiple discussions with their customer service(they were, in general helpful, but could not address my specific setup issues). There are 2 ways to link the device to your cell phone. One succeeded, but I still get an error message when I "test the network" With that, however, the device, when tested, sends an alert to my phone. It is not like a text that opens up right away, just a small alert sign next to the APP, and a notification on my top bar.(so I keep the APP on my home screen) I have to then manually open the APP.
Of note: when you test the device with a wet finger or placed in a puddle, make sure you keep water contact for 5-10 seconds. A momentary water contact will trigger the device alarm beep, but won't be long enough to trigger a WiFi signal to your phone APP! This was probably why I had so much difficulty with the device believing it was not functional at all, when it just needed longer contact with water in the test situation.(This is something customer service should know and told me, perhaps.)
I would have given 5 stars if not for all the difficulties I had with setup and testing.

Ergebnis...

G. E.G. E.: UPDATE - Even though I returned the sensor and received a full refund, the seller reached out to me and sent a free replacement. I've not used the replacement as I paid $1300 to have the leak issue repaired. However, KUDOS to the Seller - Wasserstein Home and their efforts to stand behind their product. If you have any issues with your sensor, contact them. I believe they will make an honest effort to remedy the issue.

Major Fail - returned!

After major rain in late-Feb, I discovered we had a foundation leak in an inaccessible location behind our furnace. After 15 hours of continuous vacuuming and moping, the leak finally subsided. I decided to buy a leak detector to hopefully get a heads up on any future leak before it got to the carpet again. I purchased a Glentronics BWD-WHA Bassement Watchdog for $12 [5-stars] but also wanted to be warned if away from the home. As such I eventually decided to try the Wasserstein.

Initially, setup was very easy and a quick test resulted in a notification on my phone within a minute of the alarm sounding. However, after that the Wasserstein under performed. Another big rain a few day later and the Glentronics...
