VIVOSUN 800GPH Submersible Water Pump - 3000L/H Flow Rate, 24W Power Consumption

Karen: I got this little pump at the suggestion from Yutube from the KaveMan. I needed it to use to take out the water from our 75 gallon aquarium. I had been doing this by hand with buckets and it takes a good while to do that. This made the process so much faster. I ran the clear plastic hose that I had on hand out of the aquarium out the back door and over the fence. It took no time to empty half of the water. We also used it to suck out the water from our outdoor fountain. The fountain is very deep and it brought that water out also like a charm. Best little pump ever.

James Tate: Bought this to feed a small waterfall on my ~300 gallon fish pond. It's super quiet and has performed perfectly over the summer. It did get clogged a couple times due to large leaves, which is no fault of its own, so I put it in a stiff plant basket and mesh bag to create a sort of pre-filter for it.

Adam: This lil pump will pump, for real! Its very convenient size and disassembly makes this submersible pump a great candidate for its use in my hydroponic RDWC system. I have it plugged in to a smart plug and set up thru amzn Alexa. Set up routine schedules, and can always voice override with my echo devices.

Justin: This pump sucks the water out of your tank, speeding up water changes. I have this connected to a standard Phython system to save water, time, and money. With this setup you no longer need to run water just to speed up your siphon from tank to tap (given very low height gap). It takes about 10 minutes running at max level to empty about 32 gallons of water and so you can work out real world GPH - utilizing standard Phython tubing constraints. Best bang for the buck!

Arvind Ramnarine: What can I say, I love this pump! It has lived up to all of its specifications. It is neat, well constructed, relatively low vibration and quiet for what it is. I have only been running it for a little over a week now so I can't comment too much on long term reliability but from the build quality and performance it looks like it will last a long time. Over the last few months I have looked at literally over a hundred pumps trying to find the most bang in the smallest space that looked the best built and was the cheapest. This pump fit that bill and from the moment I plugged it in I never regretted my choice.

Please note, this is a powerful pump! It's definitely more agricultural grade (indoor of course) than aquarium quality. I have seen product review videos of this thing moving water in a small spa like a spa pump and it actually does do that!! Make sure your hoses and fittings can handle the flow rate this baby puts out which are definitely to spec. For the wattage it uses its just amazing. You could hook this up in an RV or car camping situation and drain a 50 gallon drum of water up a couple ft of head in a few minutes.

Steve: I've used this for 2 and a half years until it finally started falling apart. The small plastic guards by the impeller broke off making it incapable of reducing flow. I only use this capability to reduce the chance of sucking up smaller fish on certain tanks, otherwise I use it at full flow.
I do recommend using the largest fitting and hose if you have large volumes of water to change. This will drastically reduce the time it takes to change all the water. After much tinkering, I finally bought a 1/2" MPT to 3/4" MHT so I could thread a regular garden hose to it. This gave me the most flow without the chance of kinking the soft PVC tubing that is typically used. I also had the parts from the python water changer so I thread the other end to the python at the sink so I can empty the tanks to the sink then reverse the flow with the sink and fill the tanks up.
As far as specification rating, I didn't personally measure it so this is just anecdotal. It doesn't have the highest head height but it isn't rated that high either. I don't think it truly reaches 800gph, but I also think most pumps on Amazon are grossly overrated. However, it pumps plenty fast enough for my needs....
