Andrew Moody: Using this for a hydroponics system. Seems to perform as expected. Longevity rating may change as this has only been in use for about a week so far.

NatalieNatalie: I recently installed a 15 foot 48 inch deep swimming pool. I made a cheap solar heater with some black hose on plywood and a black mat. I ordered the pump to run water through the black pipe. The cord was long enough to allow the plug to rest on the bottom of the pool and still have cord outside. The hose is running full diameter through the system and back into the pool with no problems and the water is coming out 2 degrees warmer. Very pleased with the pump and the price was remarkably low compared to other types of pumps. I think I could even add another length of hose and it would be fine. Hope it lasts the summer.

RobertRobert: Purchase July 29 2019, Worked flawlessly to Aug 06 2019 and it died.

A little over a year of non-stop usage. I think that is pretty good for 20 bucks so I will leave it at 4 stars.

I have 4 tomato stations and 4 lettuce stations. The tomato stations are doing about 10 drips a second and the lettuce stations are doing about 1-2 drips a second. So far the pump is working like a champ. I have it on a timer that powers it on every hour for 12 mins. It has been going for a few weeks now and no issues.

I also have 2 Avocado plants going with their own pump and timer on pretty much the same schedule as the above.

Nicholas: I purchased the 550gph version in July of 2017. I think that is a decent pump compared to other pumps. but compared to other cheap pumps this one is pretty darn good!

I use this to provide water to my refugium- which runs independently of the rest of my sump. The water flows down from the display, gets filtered through the skimmer, then flows to the center chamber. In the center chamber is two pumps. My return line and this pump. This pump lifts the water 8 inches and then splits two ways and feeds the fuge. the water then overflows back into the center chamber.

I think this pump would be insufficient to do anything but this use. The pump is too large to put in the display, and too low on power to make the climb to pump as a return line.

As far as noise. This pump is medium level. You have to suction the feet just right, and in the right place on the glass to reduce the noise. Not as loud as a pond pump from home depot. not as quiet as a name brand return pump. But, nothing is louder than my skimmer, so as soon as it turns back on after a feeding, this pumps noise is irrelevant. If this was the only thing running, you would notice.

I have used this in...

Gustavo: Great pump! Really quiet and easy to work with. The only thing I would say is, if you are looking to buy this instead of a mag drive since it is a lot cheaper make sure that you go one model above what you would go on the mag drive. Example: if you are looking for 500 gph go for the 650 gph as the Kedsum puts out less flow than the correspondent Mag Drive. Better to go by watt than gph is my point. Other than that, great product!

Attack Hamster: This thing is awesome. I have a problem with flooding in my yard, and was searching for a solution. I have used pool cover pumps before, but they look ugly sitting out in the yard, and have to be taken out and put away over and over.

I started searching on Amazon and found this guy:  NDS 900BKIT 9-Inch Catch Basin Kit, Black . I dug a hole at the deepest spot of the flooding area. I put some gravel in the bottom of the catch basin to try to act as a filter - since some dirt and leaves are bound to get in. Then I set in this little pump. The input/output holes in the catch basin are meant for traditional corrugated drainage pipe, but with a little creativity (and a utility knife and duct tape) I was able to create/modify covers for the holes that would fit the power cord for the pump as well as the output hose (this is what I used:  TotalPond 1/2 in. Vinyl Tubing ).

I buried the drainage hose in our lawn, but had the end pop out against the fence, so the water has somewhere to go. Since the flooding area is right up against our patio, I was able to hide the power cord behind our potting shelf and grill. One thing to note - the power cord on this is short, so...

Stefan: I bought this pump to serve as a keg/carboy washer for homebrewing. I'm using it for a short duty cycle (30 mins) spraying cleaning solutions on my equipment. I've used it several times over the last few weeks and am satisfied. It's quite quiet for a pond/sump-style pump. The large slots in the black plastic covers serve as a basic pre-filter.

It includes 2 plastic barb fittings that can screwed into the housing, which is pretty standard for this type of pump. The fitting has an o ring at the seat to prevent leaks through the fitting. In my experience, the fittings used inside these pumps are NPT, but usually a slightly thicker different thread thickness than the standard brass plumbing fittings you'll find in a Canadian hardware store. If you want to adapt this pump to off-the-shelf hardware, it's trivial to glue a standard PVC adapter onto the barb connector and continue from there. That's not a concern about this pump - I've owned several pumps of this style over the years and they all follow this standard.

4 suction cups attach to the black base plate (which you insert and turn 90 degrees to secure, rather than some cheaper pumps that use a friction fit). I'm...

Heather batshon: This product does get the water back into my aquarium; however, there is no on/off switch, so you have to plug it in only when you are ready for the water to pour back into the tank, with the hose and pump where they need to be and you have to unplug it quickly when you reach the bottom of the water source going out. If you don't pull the hose out of the tank it starts to pull the water back out into the bucket. Not efficient at all. Would not recommend this product for aquarium water refilling. Far too messy.
