Pon: It work for a small fountain and no higher than two foots tall. Anything above that, it will not work. So yes, it work like it said..

Shawn D: I bought this high-capacity pump for our pet wat\er fountain. The replacement pumps didn't seem to move the same amount of water as they used to. I had to make a bushing for the carbon filter to use this piump but it flows water like new now. I highly recommend this pump as a replacement.

Sven Golly: I would have given this 5 stars if it was grounded like the fountain pump it replaced. Anyway the suction is fine and noise level is fairly low. Only had it for a few weeks so I can't comment on longevity yet.

Greyestfox: I bought these (80 GPM models) to add to my cat's water bowls to keep the water more aerated and fresh. Some cats prefer to drink from a flowing/moving water source rather than sitting water. It works well for this purpose. The cord to the plug is a little thin but these don't pull much power so I'm sure it's sufficient. The only problem I've experienced is after taking off the plastic screen/grate to clean it out of cat fur I wasn't able to get it back on in a way to properly control the water flow so it's turned up higher than necessary. If you're adding it to create a fountain affect for cat water or a bird bath or something similar, you can probably get away with the lower flow 50 GPM model but at the time I purchased these pumps the 80 GPM models were cheaper.
