Sam: The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because my technique involves holding the honing steel upright and drawing the blade horizontally toward me, and depending on the surface I'm using to brace the tip of the honing steel, it can easily slip. I might have just capped the tip with some rubber, or something non-slip. Otherwise it's fabulous at keeping blades sharp.

Cynthia St-Pierre: I have a honing steel at work which is not one from Victorinox (I can't remember the brand) and it doesn't sharpen as well as the Victorinox one. For 30$ I am quite impress of the quality of the product, I honestly recommend it. This is a great Honing Steel and deserves to be bought, if you see this review and you're not sure weither or not you should buy it, don't hesitate and do!
