Bob Ansel: My first knife was a 110 bought in 1981. It was finished and polished very nice. I’ve bought several just recently and I’ve found that I had to spend the time to finish the blade off, about a 1/2 hour per blade. Don’t get me wrong, it’s sharp, but grinding marks are present on all the blades. I guess Buck is cutting their labor costs. Just a heads up.

austin smedley: I’ve used most of the Buck classic series designs for more than 25 years. The 102 and 117 are my all time favorites. I’ve been glad to see them released in updated materials and after much use, can attest to them being better than the original 440c versions. Not that there was anything wrong with those but the new ones sport better steel and micarta handles. They’re more difficult to sharpen but hold an edge like you wouldn’t believe.

Rundum guter Eindruck und schnelle Lieferung.
Die Klinge ist rasierscharf, die Spitze nadelfein. So sollte das immer sein.
Der Griff pass perfekt für meine Handschuhgröße 8. Auch das nach oben etwas überstehende Parierelement stört nicht wirklich.
Die Lederscheide duftet dezent nach neuen Schuhen - sehr angenehm in der Nase. - klare Empfehlung von mir!
Das ist mein erstes Buck Messer, und nicht mein letztes.
