Gabby13: Save your money and don’t buy this product. The directions are written in very poor English. Used the cooling portion during the day and on the third day the unit leaked all the water from the reservoir. The filter was saturated with water and water was leaking from underneath. The fan portion with remote is nice and the fan is very quite.

Amazon Customer: I agree with the consensus on this product. For the most part, the evaporative cooling feature is illusory. There may be some short-term benefits when you fill the water compartment with ice, but the tradeoff is increased humidity, which requires that you keep the windows open and therefore defeats the ability for this unit to serve as a supplement to air conditioning. You will need to go with one or the other. And air conditioning is the better choice for an enclosed small room. My biggest complaint is the deceptive advertising associated with this product. Lose the Arctic chill graphics and hyperbolic descriptions or risk some entrepreneurial lawyer going after you down the line! The instructions are incomprehensible.

The home has two AC units. We bought 3 of these coolers to assist the upstairs unit. We placed one in each room and one that blows directly into the return vent. Much improvement upstairs.
Make note, do not use the 'cooler' option. It causes leaks. Do not use ice, only the provided bottles or frozen water bottles. The ice causes condensation that could ruin your flooring.
