Allan M.: I’ve never spent $300 or more on a single watch winder, and I’ll never have to based on this one. Is it silent? No, but it’s more than quiet enough that unless you’re sitting in complete silence, you will not hear it. When you can hear it, it’s not loud enough to be distracting. It looks very well made and keeps whatever watch I put in it ticking. I’m so happy with it that I bought a second one and it’s just as good as the first. The money I saved on these means I can spend it on another watch that will definitely get me in trouble with my wife.

Douglas D Boyd: My watch isn't working properly (Seiko Orange Monster), so I'm getting it fixed. I'll know better when it comes back. But the winding process is gentle and should work when it comes back.

Acworthless: It functions as stated, and keeps my watch wound. However, it is NOT as quiet as some reviews lead you to believe. The motor (or maybe the gearbox) has started making a whirring noise that is getting louder. It's in my office so the noise isn't disturbing anyone (yet), but you need to be aware that it isn't silent in operation. I've had it about 2 weeks. I can't help but wonder how loud it'll be at the two month point.
