Wondering Zulu: Great book love the Keeler character, a bit Jack Reacher…ish.

grammyshere: Loved the book especially set in my home state of Indiana and adding a ‘killer’ tornado to the story was perfect! Tom Keeler is on a mission to of all places a little town- Promise, IN. Peaceful on top but evil hiding in the shadows. Great story! Well done, Jack Lively.

Colorado Avid Reader: Another lively read from Mr. Lively. This time the weather of problematic, the people are problematic, the pigs are … well, you get the drift. Through it all Keeler is Keeler and he’s lethal as all get out. The Bob is in big trouble with Keeler on the mission.

David R Falco: Love the adrenaline packed pages. Keeler is a guy you grow to like, the way he acts with honor and violence makes for a good combination.

Amazon Customer: Very detailed descriptions of localities. Mr. Lively either saw a tornado up close, or got the information from someone who did. Quite vivid in the telling.
I look forward to the next book in the series

Mark Weisbach: This is the third book in the series featuring Tom Keeler (that I know of).
Tom is ex special forces, polite, intelligent, excels in all forms of fighting, and doesn't carry a phone.
I enjoyed his adaptability in investigating and thwarting different bad guys he encounters.
After 3 books, a pattern becomes evident. The evil mastermind/boss has a lot of specialized people working for him. Either this includes the police, or the local police are incompetent. Tom likes to take a lot of risks (which usually pay off for him). Tom meets a local woman who is nearly his equal in fighting aptitude.
The characters and locale are interesting and hold my attention, but I do not think I will read anymore of this author's work.
The reason is that the master bad guy becomes more and more powerful (and less believable) in each book.
In this last book, a number of plot elements which held my attention were not resolved to my satisfaction.
The guitar case turns out to contain a guitar belonging to a "great musician" named Montgomery, WOW.
The big boss, despite totally owning local police decides to burn down 7 of his homes to cover his tracks.
At one point, Tom has to...

MPC: My eyes lit up when I noticed that book 3 of the Tom Keeler series was available. Well written, quirky, plenty of action, good pacing are all hallmarks of these adventures. Start with book 1. You won’t be disappointed.

David Makya: Tom Keeler, veteran combat medic / Air Force Special Tactics, hilft gerne.
Herrlich ironisch-cool geschrieben.

Lagoon: Keeler finds himself in Promise, Indiana on, appropriately, a promise. To deliver a guitar. Not a biggie, in the scheme of things, but at that point, events had not headed south in a hurry.
The action, and there is a great deal of it, takes place in a fairly small radius. This isn’t an international novel. What effect that has though is to keep your focus firmly on Keeler’s surroundings and how he adapts to them. Whether inside or outside, there are a number of variables that Keeler needs to take into account. And then there is the all important matter of how to dispatch your enemy. Don’t have a gun? Use a knife. Don’t have a knife? Use something that wasn’t designed to kill but will do the job just fine.
This third adventure for Keeler is his best platform to date. If you start your reading of the series here, you will be thoroughly spoilt. Peripheral characters are well drawn and, as mentioned, the action sequences are varied and many.
Comparisons are inevitable. You know who I’m talking about. But don’t go there. Keeler is very much his own creature. Faced with overcoming a unseen enemy, the odds don’t seem great for Keeler. Not great at...
