Cesar Perez: So far been few weeks and it's been great. Does the job well, hot water takes about 14 secs to get from basement to upstairs bathroom, about same from our old hot water tank. So very pleased with this product. After few months I'll update post.

I wanted to replace my traditional tank water heater with an electric tankless, so I did hours of research and comparing models and options. Finally settled on this unit in the 18KW size to fit my needs. I wanted to the next higher up but my electrical panel and home service capacity made that a risk choice. However, I'm delighted at how well the 18kw model works for my whole home use-case. Thankfully due to having an EV, I already had a conveniently located sub-panel installed. All I had to do was upgrade the capacity on that sub-panel, which was as simple as buying a larger breaker and making sure the existing wiring was up to the task. Ended up taking out the old 30amp breaker the tank water heater used out of the main panel, installing a 40-amp dual pole breaker there in its place, then upgraded my sub-panel to 100amps, and finally installing the second 40-amp dual pole breaker in the...

Richard l brown: This unit didn’t provide 5 consistent gallons a min when it was 105 degrees outside let alone 5 gallons per min at 35 degrees.
It did however work well enough. Until last week. Power went out and when it came back on unit wouldn’t heat past 73 degrees Fahrenheit.
24/7 tech support?????
I can’t even get them on the phone, I’ve been with out hot water almost 1 week and have called multiple times.
I bet they well call aug 8th of next year when there limited warranty expires.
If you can’t afford a better hot water heater.
This is for you. I don’t regret my purchase. The price was low enough to cover 13 months of service.
I’m sure it’s a simple fix, just sucks I’ll have to void my warranty because I can’t get ahold of someone

FidgetNFix: The instructions are pretty good and the installation is straightforward. Has a mounting template that came in handy and is very clear to connect and test water before connecting to power.

The wire gauge was hard to work with, but so it goes. I needed an electrician to finish the wiring up and over he was done it didn’t work.

I sent an email to the service assess on the website and shortly after my electrician was knocking at my door, “I think I know what it is!!!” Yep, he made a wording error and over it was fixed, the thing came on and I got to take a warm shower again.

Amazing part, but the time the electrician has left I already had a reply from Mia with Thermomate Service. Mind you, I sent it at 6pm pst. That felt nice, to have such a fast response. As it stood, I didn’t need service support after all. Was nice to hear from them so quickly though.

All is well and the unit is awesome!

C. E. M.C. E. M.: Went in fairly easy. Just a little drip that went away after a couple days. Does a great job of heating the water. The hot water takes as long as the tank heater to get to your spigot but the difference is that you don't run out like with the tank heater. We can now fill the big tub and take long back to back showers.
It cost me a fortune because I did not have enough space in my service for 6 #8 wires 3 double 40a breakers. But my panel was due for upgrade anyway. I put mine right into the old tank closet. I was concerned that the documents called for 12" clearance at the sides. I only had about 8" but I have noticed no great heat to the sides.
I hope it lasts a long time but I am pleased now.

I bought this unit to replace an aging hot water tank. Amazon was very prompt with the delivery, good service as usual. The unit was easy to install, although the wiring recommendation to use #12 wire is incorrect, at least for Ontario. I used #10 according.
That is where the fun ended. The heater produced lukewarm water at best. I went to a total recheck of my installation, and found no problems. The company's technician walked me through their troubleshooting list, with no luck; his conclusion was that the unit was defective and suggested for me to get a new unit.
Which I did. Amazon delivered a new unit the next day. And I proceeded to install.
Same result. Conclusion return that unit, and buy something else. I am out several hundred dollars for circuit breakers, electrical connectors and wire, plumbing fittings and pipe. And at least three days without hot water. Since I had disposed of my old unit although it was still serviceable, I now have to replace my hot water heater. Go figure! (I think I will delay getting an electric car)

Robert R.Robert R.: Just installed today. It replaced a thermoflo 18kw that caught fire a few days after a little over a year of use That one was an 18kw and this one is an 11kw and far out performs the 18. There's no fluctuations in temp and heats up faster. We have a small farm house on well water but this little guy doesn't care about pressure loss nor the cold water. It just does it's job. All that's required of it is one shower and a bathroom sink so I hope it last for many years. If any faults it's the manufactures recommendation on using 12awg wire with the 2 30 amp breakers. We have no codes where we live but it's not recommended to use 12awg wire and 10awg wire is. Many inspectors would fail the installation if 12awg was used. Personally I went with the 10awg, especially after having my other tankless heater catching fire. It was a fault in the heating element but it's always better to over do than under do when it comes to electricity. I highly recommend this little unit.
