Gregory Wells: I've had two of these water heaters. Both started leaking within about two years. After the first one died, I assumed it was just a lemon considering the many positive ratings so I replaced it with the same type. I didn't bother with a warranty claim. Now the replacement unit has started to leak after 18 months. I'm on city water with no unusual circumstances that are obvious to me. My last whole-house water heater lasted over 15 years and I have several spot water heaters that have been working fine over this same time period.
Correction- The manual says a visual inspection of the anode should be performed every 12 months. I checked this and the anode is completely gone. So this is my error. One of the many labels on the case says to have the anode inspected annually. This sounds like overkill; in my situation it certainly was not.

Jeff: I see a number of reviews complaining about the anode corroding. Of course it is, that’s what it’s only job is. It is a sacrificial metal that through electrolysis diverts the corrosion through itself. It corrodes, hence sacrificial, so your tank fittings and heater elements don’t. If you have hard water use an aluminum rod instead of magnesium. Magnesium is for soft water. Aluminum is for city hard water. Aluminum will last longer and still provide the protection. The fact that this heater has an anode shows it’s one of the better ones. Do don’t complain about it just be glad your heater will last way longer than it would without it. I’m surprised they only off magnesium replacements. I made my own with solid aluminum rod I bought online for way cheaper.

Brenda Roske: Size was perfect for our camper. Other than finding the right fittings to hook up, it was a worry free purchase. Water is nice and hot Just what we needed ✔️

SpinnerSpinner: The media could not be loaded. My wife and I moved into a new house where the kitchen sink is as far removed from the hot water heater as is physically possible. It took about 2 minutes for hot water to arrive from the 70 ft distance. Since the water lines run in a concrete slab, even after hot water arrived, a slight pause in flow had a great cooling effect. This water heater tank arrived yesterday in the afternoon and we had hot water at the sink before dinner. Plumbing install was a breeze with the PEX lines. The time consuming portion was installing a new receptacle under the sink. With only a day or so of operation, we are ecstatic. Hot water flows within seconds as the attached video shows. I have a reminder to check the anode after 6 months to see how much erosion occurs. Just waiting for an inline valve to arrive and install as per recommended instructions.
Shut off valve added and everything is still good. We love this addition to our life.

Ryan G: Easy to install, perfect for what we needed. Only reason for 4 start and a recommendation to the manufacturerer, is to provide the 1/2 FPT fitting to connect to the waterlines. Even if it was a standard 1/2" Pex or Sharkbite. Sourcing the fitting took two additional weeks with an incorrect shipped item from Amazon and and few different stores to source.
Otherwise this tanks is awesome. Easy to hang and literally plug and play (if you source the waterline fittings).

CarefulPurchaser12: This 4 gallon mini-tank heater is perfect for my kitchen. The total cost for the tank and the installation was about $325.00—higher in my case because the tank did not quite fit under the sink and I had to move it to a cabinet 6 feet away, on the other side of the dishwasher. This added the cost of two 6 foot hoses, two brass connectors, and a 12 guage extension cord. The normal cost would be under $300.
I opted to abandon the hot water at the sink and run only cold water into the mini-tank. This way, running hot water in the sink never impacts my gas water heater. The downside is that I can run out of hot water at the sink, if I use too much at once, but the upside is that it saves a lot more energy and water. By turning up the temperature on the Bosch to ¾, I have eliminated the chance of running out for my own needs.
My sink is located about 30 feet from my water heater, which is actually more like 40’ of piping. It was taking a good 30 seconds to get hot water every time, and I started collecting the 2 gallons of wasted cold water for my outdoor garden.
Now the hot is basically instant. Because of the unusual 6’ distance, it takes one second to get...

RC Kreider: The heater was well packed from the factory and it is clearly marked for connections. Our RV park model is old and has grey pipe so we used pecs to poly connections with space for repipe later. Added valves and dielectric flex connections. Put it in a pan as the last one caused some floor damage. Hot water for all uses and the big worry of shower was not an issue. Would recommend this to a friend.
