L. Bryant: Great book for explaining easily how to do perhaps everything around the house and yard! I love it better than going to youtube. Quick and easy to just run to this book. Perfect pictures along with easy explanations.

Liz: I bought this as part of a graduation gift, then ended up buying another for myself. As a lifelong Martha stan, this is necessary for anyone’s shelf but especially those just entering “adulthood”. From how to change a faucet to hosting a dinner party, there is an answer for almost all the random things you probably didn’t learn in school and don’t want to sift through internet advice to figure out. I often find myself asking “WWMD?” and this holds the answers I seek.

MJS: The manual was a birthday gift. Upon looking through it before wrapping, it had a lot of very practical and useful information. Photos are plentiful to help with instructions. Recipient was most pleased as it was on their wish list.

MisterPlow: I liked the library version so much that I had to buy one, especially since I just moved. I will get a lot out of it, but I think you almost need to be someone who grew up without the Internet to appreciate the value of an all-in-one home book like this. For me, it's so easy to reach for the book, but you might have a website you like and trust.

One star off only because there are a few how-to's made too simplistic for their difficulty level, like reupholstering chairs, which I believe to be more complicated and more trouble/expense than they're worth. Even at times like that, you can use the book as a starting point. Sometimes it helps to have a guide that tells you the terminology or techniques you can google later for more info.

I'm not going to say it's a miracle guide to your daily life, but you'll pick up some good tips. I recommend it. Decent gift for new home owners, recent college grads, newlyweds, etc.
