Pumpkin: I’ve been aware of Marie Kondo & the KonMari method for a few years now. BUT just as many of us haven’t found the time/motivation to tidy up, it can be even harder to find the time/motivation to read & learn how to properly tidy up. This book/manga makes it incredibly easy! I am a visual person by nature so being able to see this method in action is truly helpful. And because I can visualize it, I pick up on the concepts much easier versus just reading. This was a brilliant idea in my opinion. The story/characters are fun & there’s good humor & it’s very motivating & easy to understand. Actually makes me wish more self help books were in manga-form.
I’d say whether you have her other books or not…GET THIS ONE! It’s a fast & fun read that will probably benefit your life in more ways than one especially if you start applying the concept of “sparking joy” in multiple areas of your life. Thank you Marie Kondo!

Colorado Girl: Firstly let me say, I had never heard of Marie Kondo until I got this manga. I stumbled across this while searching for storage, go figure. And secondly, if the people who are rating this low because it’s a manga and not a book, that’s on you for not reading the description. That’s your own stupidity.
Now then, holy crap. This manga blew my mind! I own a lot of stuff, and like most women I struggle with letting things go because of “sentimental” value; everything is “sentimental” if you let it be. And this manga helps you to identify what is actually irreplaceable and what is not, as well as telling you that even though you may be getting rid of something, it doesn’t mean the memory is lost along with it. What a concept.
I haven’t done anything in the manga yet, I only just finished reading it, and I wanted to give myself a moment to digest what I’ve read; and then I’ll read it again, and begin my journey.
As a domestic violence survivor, I have trouble with living in the past; which has translated into a bunch of clutter, and perpetual depression. Making it hard to find the motivation to actually change, and more importantly live in the...

Stella Carrier: This kindlebook that is the Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up: A Magical Story by Marie Kondo is a creative and fun read. Basically the author creates a cartoon-like yet also entertaining read about how a woman’s life changes once she takes the steps to organize her living area. There is even well meaning info given to the woman cleaning up as to how she accumulated some of her items yet I must speak up with the intent of courage on a few caveats; Yes I agree with the author, even as a happily married woman to a sweet/heavenly husband that care must be exercised when choosing career goals andor hobbies for a man. However, I am fortunate to have been alive long enough to have enough intuitive discernment to understand where I must be emotionally resilient strong enough to believe in myself to pursue certain hobbies andor other goals even when some other well meaning people may question the reasons for me pursuing certain goals. However, a younger woman in her 20s andor younger may yet to develop that intuitive awareness and may need a person who wants the best for her to also tell her to be careful about allowing romantic love affect what more than just what goals you pursue but...

melissamelissa: Love it. So adorable. Fast read. Shows the concept and teaches the process in an easy to understand way. I like that the character Chiaki goes through a lot of the same reasons that we all do when you've never lived in a "non-messy" environment. I always thought it was just who i am and there were ppl who are neat and ocd and ppl who r not and then hoarders. But its all a choice and it helped me recalibrate my thoughts on why i never got rid of things. I thought if i had a memory i was suppose to keep it or if it wasnt broken i had to keep using it. Or certain clothes didnt have holes so better keep it even though its 10 yrs old and from high school and i dont fit it. The life changing magic of tyding up changed my life 2 yrs ago when i bought it. I didnt get to finish the process last time, but i have restarted it this week and this book helped resurge my spark.
I did the clothes purge and got rid of a basket and a half to donate and threw away another basket worth. In the initial purge there were 2 baskets worth of my boyfriends clothes mixed in so i had to seperate that out as i went. All the white tanks are for work under my uniform. I have the hung stuff rising to the...

Dohyun: Really fun little book, I bought it second hand at the recommendation of a friend, and honestly it was a great investment. It changed how I look at my possessions, how I store things, and how I present my living space. I was never a hoarder, but I didn't realize how much junk and useless stuff I was dragging around with me. After I read it, I re-gifted it to another friend of mine. Would recommend if you like manga, and you're ready to make some changes in that part of your life. If you don't like manga, get Marie Kondo's actual book, which is another excellent read.
