GW: This book is brilliant. It's so easy to follow, written so well, really helpful - my copy is now covered in highlighted sections for me to remember and use going forward. Its really helpful in understanding feng shui (also taught me I've been saying feng shui wrong my whole life - It's pronounced 'fung' shway). Great book

Cake: I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It’s simple to understand and the diagrams are very helpful. Great reference material to keep around at all times. I loved how SENSICAL and rational it is, and that it explains the common misunderstandings. I really feel like I learned a lot!

I know most people roll their eyes and ignore the compass school part of the book, but that’s actually what led me to rate this five stars. The reason why I wanted to get into Feng Shui in the first place was because my spiritual teachings called for it! So I was actually not that interested in form school but I still paid 100% attention and i’m glad I did because i learned a lot. the two are supposed to be worked together. I guess for the regular person learning just the form school portion is fine but if you’d like to explore a little further I’m glad this book covers it too!!

there is no appendix, which is disappointing, and the author’s website is really ghetto and I couldn’t find any classes. I would’ve appreciated a “further reading” section with recommendations because I trust Cathleen’s opinions. I’ll just have to go through it again and look up the...

Laura: I have read other books on the subject, but this one makes so much sense! The author really helps you create a space that can be a source of peace and comfort, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A great book! You will not regret it!

Laurie Sherman: 7/2/2014:This is an addendum to my initial review. The author has made this book very accessible, very'practical, and a book which, while I am Woking on making our house into our home right now, something I use every day. This author has gone WAY above and beyond the norm to create a practical, well written volume that feels friendly and very practically informative, useful and accessible. I have been consulting this book as I arrange and decorate, Balance and organize my new rental home. It is easy to follow but detailed.enough to really help me to maximize the chi (good energy), our finances and our comfortand health becoming more and more what we want it to be deeply inside and out. We are able to do this within our fairly tight budget, too thanks to the various suggestions we have found in . She explains how to figure out the most important things to do as we start. I can truly say that it makes a huge difference. My husband and I both feel better as we implement as.many of the a suggestions from this resource e-book. Room by room, space by space inside and outside, we can feel our relationship(great already) start to gently change for the better. We have new friendships, New...

Vickie A. Brown: This is one of those books that you will keep in a handy location for quick referencing, I guarantee it. I read a few other books and a lot of things on the internet but none of it really made any sense. If you want mirrors on every wall and faceted crystals hanging from 9" strips of red ribbon all about your house with 8 shiny coins in one corner and 9 oranges or tangerines in another or if you choose to believe that there is no good place in your house for your toilet then this may not be the book for you. But if you want a simple no nonsense approach to Feng Shui then this is a MUST READ. It will make you feel good just reading it. I plan to read it cover to cover again. I highly recommend this book, it is well worth the money!

* this is an add on to my original review*
I just finished reading a few other reviews of this book and I have to say I disagree with the one and three star reviews. Fist of all I never got the feeling that she was putting down the Chinese mysticism and traditional beliefs. We live in very different times and our surroundings are very different as well. She makes that point clear and I agree with that rationale. Another review mentions...

Kathryn: Having studied feng shui I was quite eager to read this book as the description sounded ideal to help me identify the negative connotations western people have with feng shui and to determine my strategy of how to overcome these objections.

The book started off ok, if a little wacky but soon descended into the completely ridiculous ramblings of a person without the faintest clue on how feng shui works or even the underlying principles coupled with an unusual fear of electrical appliances.

There is virtually no true feng shui at all in the book, basic principles are completely ignored or just plain wrong. The author does not seem to have a grasp on the actual concepts of feng shui, instead using purely her own design tastes and principles she proudly declares anything she personally likes as "good feng shui" and everything she doesn't "bad feng shui".

When trying to dispel the "myths" she has no insight of the true history and implementation of feng shui and instead spouts her own interpretations and ideas which have absolutely nothing to do with the reality of the evolution or workings of the subject.

If, like the author, you honestly believe that...

KarenW.: I have to say that with a library full of feng shui books, I was skeptical that there could be anything new and different regarding feng shui. So many of my books repeated and repeated the same information and a lot of that information sounded silly and superstitious. I heard about this book from my friend in the U.S. (where it has received amazing reviews and great success) and decided to purchase the Kindle version. I know another reviewer had a challenge with the Kindle version a few months ago, but mine was flawless, so the formatting issues she mentioned must have been solved.
This book is quite simply the very best book on feng shui I've ever read. It is very well-written, with clear, concise explanations on how to use feng shui in your home. It also clarifies the myths and silly superstitions that have been mistakenly made part of feng shui. This book was such a breath of fresh air, especially after reading so many other feng shui books that really just seemed to repeat the same information and nonsense over and over. This author has done the research and has taken the time to find out the true meanings behind feng shui principles, and I am grateful for all I learned...
