Amazon Customer: I thought this book was a great way to help people disengage from the consumer, instant shopping trend. Lot’s of resources to check out in addition to the text in the book.

kittykat: At first I thought 33 articles of clothing? That's crazy! But if you look at the clothes you wear each week it comes out to about 33 give or take. Many of us tend to wear the same small number of pieces all the time. The key is identifying them. I don't think jewelry and accessories should be included. Courtney does say to adapt as you see fit so that is my advice.

iyahiyah: If your overwhelmed with all your stuff and you would really like an option outside of immediately throwing it all away, this book is for you.

The book is more about minimizing distractions ( like a closet packed full of clothes) so your focus, time, and energy can be free to use on living your life in a way that is healthy for you as well as feels good to you. She doesn't tell you what to wear she encourages you to make small decisions that add up to a larger whole.

I enjoyed the book and I'm glad I asked my husband to get this for me.

Amazon Customer: I love that Courtney Carver not only writes about how to do the physical downsizing of your closet but also focuses on the emotional component. This book was eye opening. I never realized how many negative emotions were tied to so many of the clothes in my closet. I have made much progress since reading the book and getting dressed has become so much easier. This book is one to keep, it’s a good one to pull out and read/reference from time to time. I highly recommend it! -Jen

Tina: I’ve been reading a lot of self help books this year and one recommended this book. I had never heard of the project but I felt I needed this in my life.
The book takes you through how to start the process of how to make your life easier with only 33 items for 3 months and shows how this could give you more time and probably money.
What I liked about the book is that there isn’t any rules but more encouragement to do what’s perfect for you. It’s not how to make your perfect wardrobe capsule but examples of what the author and other people have in their’s.
I have put a date in my diary and plan to start spring with an uncluttered wardrobe and an easier start to my days. I’m sure that taken this step will help in my bid to declutter.

Amazon Customer: I first discovered Courtney Carver through the Minimalists podcasts. In true minimalist form I stopped myself buying it straight away but still had it on my list after several weeks so decided I should get it. It’s so much more than just a book about reducing your wardrobe. It’s motivating and clearly evident how it’s helped other aspects of her life. I’m now excited to tackle my life and home and look forward to enjoying the freedom.

Elaine P.: It’s so much more than a challenge about clothes. It can help change your whole perspective on debt shopping and how you want to live your life.
Well worth a read
Thanks x

Key notes 🔑
1. The average woman owns $550 dollars in clothing that has never been worn. We wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time, yet 100% of our wardrobe gets 100% of our attention, emotion, space, and time.
2. Project 333 is a minimalist fashion challenge where you dress with only 33 items – including clothing, accessories, jewelry, and shoes – for three months.
3. Money, time, space, clarity and freedom are a few things that most people gain as a result of dressing with less and trying this closet challenge.
4. As a guide you start with 21 articles of clothing, six accessories, two pieces of jewelry and four pairs of shoes
5. Stuff and shopping won’t make you feel better.
6. The world now consumes about 8 billion new pieces of clothing every year.
7. 95% of discarded clothing can be recycled or Upcycled
8. The amount of water used in apparel production each year is enough to fill 32 million Olympic size swimming pools. Meanwhile, 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water.

Sussanne RandallSussanne Randall: I enjoyed this book! It’s important to note that the author will not tell you what you should have in your closet. Instead she helps you figure out what will work for you personally. This book also touches on how overall minimalism will help free up time, money, energy so that you can LIVE life ❤️
Nothing new if you have been following her for awhile BUT reminders are needed and this book puts it all in one place. Has earned a place on my bookshelf and I am selective
