Desta: I am newly diagnosed and so far every doctor has told me ‘eat no fiber, then low fiber, then high fiber.’ This book quickly filled in the blanks and gave me a workable plan, in one evening. I haven’t tried the recipes yet but will start today. I’m a foodie, and they look simple to assemble but nutritious. Overall, this was very helpful.

BullGator: I bought the book during my first attack of diverticulitis. My doctor, err .. Nurse Practitioner, was clueless except for what her little computer was spewing out and never made a stab at a diagnosis, let alone a solution. I waited two weeks for a referral to a specialist and felt like I needed to figure things out. This book was suggested and I bought it on Amazon. The information was very good to a clueless person like myself and explained some things about my symptoms. The liquid diet suggested was what ultimately got me on the right track, with confirmation from another book that I bought on Amazon. My only complaint was that the information in this book is not terribly specific and left me guessing about foods and liquids and schedule. The information is basically the same as what I found on WebMD.com, although better organized. Since there does not seem to be a universally accepted cause or treatment for Diverticulitis, it is to be expected that different authors have conflicting information.
