Salah Herbawi: I have suffered from perfectionism for a very long time(since I was 10 at least). The chapters in the book are very relatable and provide you with the understanding and the tools necessary to make a change. As well as providing insights into the possible root causes of perfectionism.

Victoria: Fantastic book! Incredibly insightful & full of knowledge and homework. This is one of the best CBT books I’ve read on perfectionism, I’ve read a few. Really helped me start to tackle my anxiety and understand why & how this has transpired. Many thanks

Stephen Parrott: This is a very informative and helpful workbook. Sharon Martin has a Masters degree in Social Work and has over 20 years of clinical experience as a licensed clinical social worker. With all that though her book is able to be read by anyone with a high school education. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is new to me and apparently it focuses on the power of our thoughts to control our actions and behaviors. By getting those thoughts out of our heads and onto paper or into an electronic device it allows us to evaluate and develop healthier thought responses in the future. Sharon has many sheets which can be downloaded that can be filled out to aid in the said process. Perfectionism involves holding the host and others to impossibly high standards. Pursuing excellence is not perfectionism and Sharon makes the distinction. Perfectionists make assumptions, use cognitive distortions, self blame and self criticize. The worksheets Sharon has links for helps address these issues. You fill out the sheets, see what's going on and develop new healthy thought responses which in turn changes your outcomes and life. Put in the work and you will see the results. Recovery is a process that is...

Amazon Customer: And so i paid £11 for a new book, well that's what i thought. But it's not new at all. Not only that it's used but half of it already filled in as it is a book in workbook format. No information whatsoever before buying that it's used. Great to read about you and how you feeling as a perfectionist, but that i find very doubtful, thanks for not leaving any space to write my own answers and thoughts.

Overlord Thunderbeast: I was diagnosed with GAD and panic disorder and am currently on medication to control my symptoms. I was seeing a therapist but had to stop for financial reasons. Many of the things I discussed with my therapist are right here in this workbook for a fraction of the cost of a therapy session AND it includes exercises to practice the ideas in it. While I agree that this would be more helpful with the assistance of a licensed therapist, this is incredibly useful on its own. Almost as good as having a therapist in your home. Not surprising though considering the author has her own practice.
My only criticism is that the format for the Kindle version is not the most convenient to work on since AFAIK I cannot type into the tables or worksheets. I’ve had to screenshot the exercises and use markup or another app to be able to type/write onto the worksheets. This is more an issue with Kindle and its app though. It was only a minor inconvenience to me to figure out a workaround since I’m decently tech savvy.

Nicole Dressler: The content is excellent, however I paid full price for a new book but received a damaged, sticky, and stain-covered book.

Natalie: There are a lot of people out there who struggle with perfectionism or fear of failure at some point in time - myself included. So when my friend and colleague Sharon Martin, LCSW sent me her book, of course I couldn't wait for the opportunity to read it and snapped it up quickly. Although I was originally sent a copy of the book from the publisher for review, I will tell you that I have had a hard time keeping a copy due to utilizing it as a resource for my clients. So, I have ordered more copies, including a Kindle. Here is a breakdown of my review:
Pros:
1) Pricing was efficient. I ordered multiple copies, so it was good that the book didn't drain my purse.
2) Easy to read, mostly laymen's terms. I would say the max is a 5th grade reading level.
3) I appreciate the disclaimers given in the front of the book about what people should do if negative/overwhelming feelings come up and how this book can be used as an extension of work with a therapist.
4) The definition of perfectionism, as well as the different types of perfectionism were easy to understand and the examples used to further clarify perfectionism were great, and I think most people who struggle with...
