GinGreen: I love this series! It has everything in it forbidden love, mystery, heartbreak and even time travel. Its also paranormal with vampires, witches and daemons. I will definitely be reading the fourth book which connects to this story.

Terry: I love this series I couldn’t wait to read the books after seeing the series on DVD. I will say that the books give you way more detail and explain a lot more that was completely left out of the DVD series especially season three. I don’t want this to be a spoiler, but season three on the DVD left out a huge Part of the third book basically her familiar. In season two of the DVDs they brought forth are familiar but I don’t think that anyone really understood that’s what it was but when you read the books you completely understand what everyone’s thinking and why they did the things that they did, and where they’re coming from-their point of you. I had watched the first two seasons, and was waiting for the third season to come out and then missed it. So I bought the DVDs and the books. The books came first and I decided to read the third book before watching the DVD, I fell in love with the book and decided to read the whole series from book one through three again, then I watch the DVDs although the DVDs are amazing the books really bring this to life you’ll love it

K9cfmark: I saw the BBC series and enjoyed it. So I bought the books (even though I vowed not to buy/read a vampire book because of the flood of crap that dominated the shelves 15 years ago). This series is very good and well written and is so very different and better than the flood of treacle from be fore.

The BBC series was magnificently done and shot, and a lot of those images helped my enjoyment of this book.

I recommend these to you and think you will likely agree with me that it was time and money well spent.

L. G. M. Meer: This is one of the best stories I have ever read. To others I like to describe it as "Harry Potter for grownups". It is beautifully written and doesn't get boring anywhere. Read these books first before you watch the television series, the story and the characters have much more depth than can ever be shown on a screen. Higly recommended! Also, the boxed set of books looks good in your book case and the print is a little bit bigger, easier on the eyes.

Patricija: I thoroughly enjoyed reading All Souls trilogy. It isn’t without flaws but the parts I love greatly outweigh the parts I’m not so keen on. With my pronounced affinity for both history and scholarly work, this story went right up my alley. It is not for everyone (no novel ever is), but where it strikes the chord with sympathetic readers, it will linger. Though some elements of plotlines are derivative to an extent, over the course of trilogy the author turned it into something genuinely her own and, within that scope, authentic. Holy grail of originality might be elusive when dealing with archetypes and I do not expect miracles in that arena.

Parts I loved the best, I noticed, are some of the parts disgruntled readers hated the most. For me, historical references and quotes were mesmerizing and inspiring to the extent that I’d very much like to track down some the original work referenced throughout the trilogy and see whether there’s more I might like. I am well aware this is work of fiction and not documentary, so I don’t mind creative licenses the author took. Though her scientific concepts aren’t quite as sure-footed as historical ones, I found the ideas...

Siobhan Gormley: I had bought the first book back when it first came out, but as usual I never got around to reading it. I watched the first series based on the first book and really enjoyed it, so I figured I'd read all the books since I had to wait for new series. I have to say I'm glad I watched the series before reading the book because I'm not sure I would have got they've the first one otherwise. I can't put my finger on why, but I found the first book not as engrossing as the second one. Maybe it's because of all of the set up that has to happen for the characters.

The second in this trilogy, as I said above, definitely takes you on a ride. Matthew and Diana become much more themselves as they go around trying to get Diana help in strengthening her powers.

The final book wraps up all the threads that were pulled at during the first two books and it was equally as enjoyable as the second. Something I came to realize though in this book was there are SO many secondary characters that it was difficult to give many of them real justice in the story. For instance, I very much wanted to know and see more of what Ysabeau could do.
