Jelly Strands: I needed a decent vise for home projects but didn't want to spend a fortune for one. This one fit the bill. It seems to be pretty well built from 60 Kpsi steel. The jaws move smoothly and the teeth hold items securely. And, it's got a lifetime warranty. Worth the money.

Nathan Sauer: It's ok for a modern vise. Nothing beats the 50 yr old ones though. New Chinese cast is junk compared to the old stuff

Jerry: So far so good. Seems to be tightly built and no flaws. I really only need a good 5 inch vise but I figured I'd get a larger one since this was so cheap. It's not up to the quality of my american made wilton but being so large it won't be easy to break this vise and should be able to hold tight. So far I am very happy with it.

Miya Y.: Nice vice. Just don't open it too much or you will have to fiddle around quite a bit to get it to engage again. I like the width and it looks great on your work table.

Stephen Larsen: Best investment I've made in the past year. Never owned a vise before, and I don't know how I made it without one. This thing has gotten lots of use the past 9 months and is still going strong. I love the fact that this thing will open up to about 6 inches (I can get 6-1/2 inches max), and the fact that it has very wide jaws (8 inches) as well.
Reasonably priced with a malleable steel jaw and anvil, with what appears to be a cast iron base (cast iron scares me because of its weaker strength). I mounted it to my garage work bench, and tightened it right down with no problems. Great grip that holds and does not loosen. Easy to tighten and loosen as well. I love the swivel aspect--easy to swivel and lock in the needed position. I've even used the pipe vise (under the main jaws) on 2 occasions (cutting and threading)--no complaints here either as it makes working with pipe a lot easier.
I've done some metal hammering/bending on the anvil--no marks left on the anvil surface.

Robert M: Pros - Strength, positioning, grip, bar grip, mount holes, swivel
Cons - none yet
The 3 mount holes hold it secure. The strength of the jaws is excellent, and with the built in pipe holder has great grip but a little narrow.
With the dual lock swivel it does not move when you pry on it. I have not pried with cheater bars or anything extremely heavy prying but normal prying the swivel has held well.
Being able to swivel it around to multi-positions has really made working with it nice.

D. Cole: I am glad I chose this vise. For a fairly heavy duty steel vise that doesn't break the bank, I think that this was a wise choice. I did not need a $1000 dollar vise for home projects, just one that would hold things firmly in place. It must also hold up under some abuse on occasion. I feel that this on would do the job and keep doing it for a life time or two. It works smoothly with out any noticeable slop or play. I squirted some spray silicone on the channel surfaces and it really moves quite freely. I have no complaints and highly reccomend this if you are looking for a reasonable priced heavy duty vise.

frederic: The vise arrived with the handle bent but not enough to make the vise unusable so I'll keep it this way. The vise is heavy and the packaging is not made for transportation (more like a shelf presentation box).
The vise is very strong. I did a few tests and I'm conviced that it will do the job for many decades (I hope).
For a few years now, I've been purchasing Tekton tools and none of them failed to satisfy me. Time will tell if they keep giving :)
EDIT: The provided template for the holes is completely wrong, don't use it.
