My 1800 gallon pond has biofalls and I seed the pond with beneficial bacteria often but when the air temps are above 90F, the clouds of green single-cell algae thrive, and water clarity suffers (ie visibility drops to one inch).
So added this 900 with UV lamp as a additonal filter and aerator. Worked great. Within one week, pond clarity is crystal clear and visibility is all the way to the bottom. Was easy to set up and I like that the pump/filter is totally submersible in the pond (expect for the rain shower snorkel). In addition to filtraron, adds aeration to pond as well. The LED light at night is a nice feature. I wish there was as easy indicator to quickly show that the UV light is functioning. It is possible to check such, but takes a small amount of effort. Otherwise, it worked great for me and I highly recommend.
See before and after photos. Suspended single cell green algae inn first photo. Can see to the bottom in second photo.
Just ordered replacement UV bulbs for nexts years to come.

Elemar: I have had this about two months. Using it in a new, small above-ground pond I set up. I love the bell water feature. It has been keeping the pond pretty clean, but since it is a new pond, I did have some major issues with algae. I watched some videos online and used a laundry basket wrapped in some polyfoam to create a pre-filter before things got to the filter. That cleared up the pond and things have been good ever since. You will be surprised at how gross this thing gets but don't be discouraged. It's part of the pond process.

Heather: Compared to other pumps and filters this is perfect for my small prefab pond. The UV filter has cleared up my algae bloom in just a few days. It was super easy to set up. A nice, small, all in one unit.

Well designed and an efficient use of space. I was impressed with how solid and well put together the unit is. Concerns about floating in other reviews were a non issue, once full of water the unit sat perfect on the base of our pond. The ball joints make for easy adjustment of the fountain.
Only point that I was not expecting was the second power cord. One for the pump, one for the UV light. Not a problem, just needed to adjust how we conceal them.

For years I have had a pond and struggled to keep it clear. I put in water hyacinths, exchanged the water, tried simpler filters but still had swampy green algae and could hardly see the koi, goldfish and minnows in the pond.
This unit is perfect. I wish I had bought one years ago! Within a few hours of installing it I noticed the water start to clear and after 2 days the water was perfectly clear. Beyond it fully solving my algae problem, I really like the following features:
1. There are several spray nozzles. My favourite by far is the "bell" and combined with the built in LED light it really looks great at night. It's also great that there is ample extra pieces to adjust the nozzle height.
2. There is a separate plug for the UV lamp. Some may consider this a "con" as it requires 2 outlets. However, if the UV bulb ever burns out you can at least continue to run the filter which is better than having nothing work until you can replace it.
3. It is super easy to clean without tools. Turn 2 knobs on the top with your fingers and you can do a quick rinse of the filter and rest of the inside of the pump.
4. The angle of the spray...

Fitzgerald MedineFitzgerald Medine: I tried everything. I must have drained my pond 10 times. and one or 2 days later. it's back to being green. and murky. I've tried every chemical known to man, with sub-par results. Even beach, the bleach would def kill the algae but it turned the water cloudy, and then after a few days boom! the water was back to being green and murks. if you look at my first picture. this was the day I added the filter to the pond, if you look closely, you can see that from the moment I place the pump in the water, and although the water was green and murky, the filter still pumping out crystal Clearwater if you notice the waterfall in the background it was pumping green water on day one. The other two Photos are from 3days later!!! and as you can see the water is clear. you can see down to the bottom again!!! while although, the bottom is covered in what I can only assume is dead algae I must admit this is still a really good solution!!!!! well worth the money

After jumping through some serious hoops to find whom to talk to about getting this refunded/replaced, we finally found contact info and we were able to get them to replace the pump part free of charge. I'd give it 5 stars if it were easier to find whom TO CONTACT to get a refund/replacement. The unit when working is fantastic.
We have a large 3000-gallon pond that is built into our retaining wall and hill that held our Koi AND Goldfish. Last year we had a HUGE Goldfish spawn and ended up with over 100 babies to get rid of, on top of the adults we had (around 15) so we decided to create a smaller pond JUST for our goldfish. It was a REAL challenge catching them all in our larger pond, but by the end of the summer last year we had managed to catch them all and put them into the smaller pond, which is about 250-300 gallons.
