Amazon Customer: I like that the handle is an easy way to pull it up out of the water to clean it. It supposedly doesn't need to be cleaned out, but it really does—not very often however. It's more powerful that what I need, but this style didn't seem to be available in a smaller size, so I just cut a small hole in the hose so it wouldn't over flow the waterfall. The excess helps keep water circulating in the rest of the pond. I kind of knew it was too big, but I figured I could deal with that one way or another with valves and Ts, etc. Too bad this style doesn't come in a smaller version.

GS: This pump is working fantastic in my 1,000 gallon pond. And so easy to clean off any excess debris.
Also working well with my Atlantic SP1600 waterfall and Oase Biosmart 5000 filter.

Gonzalez FamGonzalez Fam: We have a 1500 gallon pond that we've been just sort of winging it since we bought the house 4 years ago. The summers are hot in NC and the algea gets out of control. We also have a lot of trees dropping debri in the pond. We finally got in there and scooped a lot of the crap out which made the water very murky. We had a pump and filter combo from AquaSource that was so nasty to clean out. In the summertime we would have to clean it two or three times a week just to get the water to circulate through the pump. On a local Facebook group I asked what kind of pump I could use that would not get clogged up and everyone suggested the Tetra large debris pump with this the external tetra bio filter. The first couple days we were pretty disappointed that we didn't see much clarity. However, after 3 weeks the pond looks better than it's ever looked. We can actually see the pump and the bottom of the pond !! One thing to be mindful of is the attachment sizes of this unit are rather large (1 1/4 and 1 1/2). It's hard to find pond tubing that size locally And we also ended up having to buy a new waterfall box because our old waterfall box only had a 3/4 in max inlet. So if you end up going...

cathy: Bought this to replace an Oase pump that barely lasted the warranty period. This one is bigger The cover is heavy duty and does a good job filtering out pond debris. Had to upsize the hose also tTakes 1.25 o 1.5 “

Wilson: It works so good so far after one month no blockage compare to the other product, since we have a lot of tree around the pond , also good enough power output to let water has fast circulation through pressured filter , except if clean the product without screw drive that will be even better, no complaints for this good product

DAVID C: I use this pump for a medium size Koi pond. The build, and feel of this pump seems good. The pump runs continuously in my application. It has not been installed for long, I hope it lasts longer than the pumps I have used in the past. I will update after the first year goes by.
