HBZ3HBZ3: The item IS a TR45 but not the TR45 in the advertised picture.

I bought this to replace my trusty but tired TR45, the one in Amazon's photo with the black plastic handrest.

The one supplied (in my photo, without the black) does not accept the Type 53 staples which I've used for years on my old TR45. They are very different with different loading mechanisms, accepting different staples!

Very annoyed. I need to throw away all my staples now.

David Powell: I had a fairly powerful mainly plastic staple gun. I only bought this one because I thought I had lost the the first.Then I realised. The original was certainly powerful, but was right on the limit of a one handed squeeze - I usually ended up pressing hard against the surface to help me operate it, which is not ideal when the surface in question is free standing. This Stanley light duty model with a 6mm staple is more than adequate for pinning up single sheets of paper and card and much, much easier to operate. I wish I'd seen the light years ago!
And an added bonus: the big'un always annoyed me because I had to fire off a staple in order to lock the lever down. Unnecessary, and just a pain making sure that you don't leave staples lying around where someone might step on them. With this one it is possible to slip the loop over the handle without launching!

marlin maduras: Gun is fine. I paid a bit more expressly for the Stanley brand. Plenty of competitors out there! Pretty disappointed that there were NO staples with the new gun. This is a short-sighted cheap-out on their part. Jeez...the packaging cost more than a few staples. And, yea, MAYBE it said this in product description, but c'mon!

John: Purchased this to replace an older model of the same staple gun which I have had for years. Only reason for the new one was I have managed somehow to loose the clip that holds the staples in. The new one has a slightly different design so looks like this can’t happen again. The new one so far performs as good as the old model so hopefully more years of use to come.
I find it nice and easy to use.
