Scott: I love Ryobi in general, I'm admittedly a fan boy... That being said, this is a nice little tool. Easy to load, fairly maneuverable, and very powerful. We drove several 100 staples into 2x8 framing, hanging plastic sheathing. Never slowed down or had any problems. The only issue I have is sometimes the area I needed to get into was too tight and had to switch to a smaller hand stapler. I'm not sure how you could make the unit smaller, but if there's a way to make the whole thing more compact that would be the only improvement I could come up with.

Amazon Customer: Purchased this stapler from Amazon instead of Home Depot as it was priced better. Of course it works great it’s a Ryobi. Never had a Ryobi product that didn’t work wonderfully. If you have any projects to do that require stapling such as reupholstery, etc. this is the perfect stapler. Do not confuse this with a Brad nailer because it is not. It is a stapler.

John: Easy to load and use. I like that you can adjust the power. That's not something you can do with manual/spring actuated staple guns. Regarding power - when the power setting is turned up to the maximum and with a fully charged 4AHr battery, it will drive a 1/2 inch long staple into a redwood fence board. It will accept a 3/8 inch wide (crown width) staple. 1/2 inch crown staples won't fit. But neither will they fit in my old Craftsman spring powered staple gun (which finally died of 'old age').
I upgraded from hand-power to Ryobi electric and I am glad that I did - even though the price was 3 times.
I like that it came with a hook so that I can hang it on my belt. Much easier and safer than that coat hanger wire that I used with my old Craftsman.

(Correction added: I said that they would fire a 9/16 inch crown width staple; that was wrong. 3/8" is correct)

A. Pena: I purchased these (quite expensive if you think about it) electric stapler in order to add to my tool shed for casual DIY projects and cabling I do. I had seen someone review this new version and I was impressed with the product. I was blown away how much better they are than my Stanley set with cabling and the sheer force of the staple itself. I use it for some standard stapling, but where I found it much better at doing was stapling cables in place. I do a lot of networking and cable work for A/V and computer work and these staples have some real holding power while having a nice guide to avoid the obvious, hitting the cable. So many times I just needed a way to hold the cable in place while we button things up, that I reach for a stapler to hold the cable and even though those staplers had guides, they werent very fixed in place and allowed the cables to move during the inevitable jump of the stapler when it hits.

This is something I really like about this stapler, the kickback of the unit while in use is almost nothing. This means you are much more likely to put that staple where you wanted it. Most hand held staple guns tend to shift when they follow through the...

Henry D.: For years I found the use of my hand stapler a literal pain to use when stretching canvases. By nature stretching canvases requires pulling the canvas over the stretcher and holding it in place while preparing to staple. The Ryobi battery stapler gets the job done quickly and efficiently ensuring that the staples are driven into the wood cleanly. The battery also eliminates the need for a compressor connection and/or a power cable, keeping the work area less cluttered. In addition, it has a nice balance so that it rests on any small flat surface, near hand when needed. Too bad it wasn't supplied with its own battery. Even so, a great addition to my other Ryobi power tool kit.
