Alibongo: Husband is happy that it shoots up to a 5m range and a quick change magazine for rapid fire against would be intruders 😄
After having the light duty for several years he's very happy about the upgrade to the heavy duty version.
Apparently it's easier to use, especially as we're getting older and need things to work with less pressure needed.
Only used the stapler part so far, so cannot comment on the nail gun aspect.
Looks far sleeker than the silver, light duty one we've had for years.
Very happy with our purchase.

Thomas Dionisio: I almost never do reviews, but this time I felt compelled to let others know how much better this is than the competition.
I need to replace my old staple gun. I tried Dewalt, and sent it back, then Arrow and sent that back. Both jammed repeatedly, misfired, and were generally the worst tools I ever owned. I tried the Stanley, and finally!
This is easy to squeeze for starters. I ran a half a box of staples through it for an overhead job and never once did it jam or misfire, and the staples go all the way in flush. Finally a staple gun that works! Highly recommended.

Andrea PolkAndrea Polk: I purchased this stapler to tack up weed barrier cloth inside above ground planters made from wood pallets. I was hesitant to purchase based upon some of the negative reviews, but since this tool was within my budget and some of the others were not, I took a chance. I also purchased a recommended staple assortment that fits the TR150HL.
I unboxed it and read the simple directions for loading the staples. Several sizes of staples (depth) can be used with this gun, and I chose a relatively small size for my job. Loading was simple and the staples locked into place with ease. There's a lever that allows for increasing the punching power of this tool, but that also increases the resistance when squeezing it to deploy the staples. Being a woman with a relatively strong grip, I still preferred the lower setting for prolonged use.
I had no problem tacking up the weed barrier into place inside the planter boxes, no tacking 1" chicken wire on the bottom of the boxes (to keep out critters) to the pallet wood. There were occasional misfires where no staple came out, but that was only about 5% of the time.
The build quality of this stapler is OK, but not 'heavy duty' in...

momof3boys: After reading all the mixed reviews I was a bit skeptical about this. Well, it arrived today and I set right out to use it. Worked great, right from the package. Much easier to use than traditional staplers of this class. I had two Heavy Duty Staplers and both were difficult to load, hard to squeeze and basically, I hated. When both broke, I decided to look for something that would potentially be easier. As a woman with small hands, but not wanting to invest in an electric staple gun or one that operates of a compressor (though that would be nice however, I do not own a compressor!) I needed something that would work for a minimum investment. This did the trick! I needed to winterize my chicken pen and used this to staple the plastic around it. No problems, easy to use, hands never got tired with what I had to do. So glad I bought this and if you are looking for a decent heavy duty stapler that is an economical purchase and actually works, then this is a good investment. Will it last a year or more? I have no idea..some on here have complained. I found it to be made well, seems durable. My last cheepo ones lasted me years...I have no reason to think this won't.

J&E: I purchased the Stanley SharpShooter for a window seat cushion upholstery project. The goal was to attach upholstery fabric to plywood leaving the staples as flush to the wood as possible to prevent the staples from scratching the base of the window seat.
The gun itself is easy to use. Average grip strength is all it takes. I would recommend pushing down on the top flat portion of the gun as you are pulling the trigger to drive the staples in. This will help keep it from bouncing away from the board resulting in a staple barely in the wood or not at all.
As I said my goal was to make sure the staples we're flush with the wood; however, that was not the result with gun alone. I had to finish driving the rest of the staples into the wood with a hammer.
I would recommend this stapler despite the need for an additional tool.

One Reviewer: We needed an inexpensive heavy duty staple gun that would be able to do some small tasks with temporarily securing some fabric to wood (floor joists in our basement ceiling). While this performed the job just fine- (we used 1/2" staples for our project) -it seemed to become increasingly difficult to push the stapler over time. My husband, who is very strong, noted this and said that it felt as if it were becoming increasingly resistant and requiring more pressure to push the staples through. I have fairly strong hand strength and while I was able to staple with this as well, and also found that it was a bit stubborn at times. We had no problems after going through 2 1/2 stacks/rows of staples with it jamming whatsoever. Overall, for the price, I do feel like we got our money's worth from this, just be (possibly) prepared for a little sweat equity if you have a lot of stapling to do into wood ;) Thanks for reading!

Bob Magee: Smart, easy to use and gives a tidy finish.
Keep a good firm grip as it can ‘bounce’ occasionally.
