Tracy L.: Works lie a charm, great quality, and easy to assemble and use. I was a bit worried at first, but after following easy instructions, all is great.
Used for bread, meat, and cheese....all perfect.

Heinz Hammer: Great slicer, blade very sharp. Excellent buy.

A. Cooper: I like the dial numbers, make it easy to come back to the same thickness. Also come apart easily to clean

Destructor: It's an okay slicer. Pretty underpowered, so you really have to take it slow. Trying to cut bread that was just slightly Frozen blew the fuse. The 1.2 amp fuse is pretty rinky dink and pop's real fast. So go very slow when you're cutting! This is kind of like a Fisher Price bread slicer or meat slicer.

Rick K.: I bought this slicer from warehouse deals for a reduced price it came without the manual, plastic tray or original box all easily replaced. I had a 3 lb. piece of homemade corned beef in the fridge ready to go, the slicer performed perfectly sliced thin with no effort, designed to come apart for cleaning it's much easier to clean than other slicers I've had.....two thumbs up!

Todd DuBrey: I bought this solely for slicing meat for Jerky. For years, I've been par freezing meat for jerky and cutting it by hand. I wanted something to give me consistent slices. I took a chance on this.

My first thought when I opened the box was, "Wow...this is actually pretty sturdy". Then I plugged it in and turned it on.....It spun at like a mere 45 rpms. And I was confused. There was no speed adjustment. It just sat there whirling, leaving me wondering how the hell it was going to cut through par frozen beef. (you still have to do that with beef on a slicer, unless you want a mess of bits)

And to my delight, this thing ripped right through it. It was satisfying. I literally sliced 4 lbs of Top Round London broil in about 5 minutes my first time. As I got used to the slicer and how it works, I was under 2 minutes by my 3rd use. Yes, you have to clean it, which - once you (carefully) remove the blade, takes all of 5 minutes to hose down in the sink. By my calculations, every time I use it, I save an hour just in slicing. I can't tell you what an hour is worth to you, but for me, I made my money back the first time I used it (terribly) because I also ended up with...

RowD: We had been thinking about a slicer, and I purchased this one for my spouse for Christmas based on the ratings on his site. It looked pretty cheap and plasticky; despite the description of being stainless, most of it is plastic. It was pretty easy to set up, although the instructions were not as clear as one would hope. We first tried slicing some aged country ham. It became clear right away that just sliding the meat through the slicer as instructed was not going to work. But by putting heavy pressure on the meat, we were able to get some slices, although uneven - with a lot of shreds along the way. A couple of days later, we tried a leftover prime rib and had better luck but, again, had to put a lot of pressure on the meat to hold it against the blade to get sort of even slices. I have ordered a non serrated blade to see if that makes a difference. Cleaning is easier than I expected. The blade goes off and on easily. So I’d say not great but adequate for the price.

Tom B: This is not commercial grade obviously but it's a significant improvement over the entry level home slicers.

It can go through a few pounds of meat without overheating. I've done continuous slicing for about 15-20 minutes without problems. The motor has ventilation fan so that probably helps. (there is a fuse that will protect the motor if it does overheat -- and they give you an extra fuse)

The design is lightweight and compact but it's metal in the right places. The guide plate is rigid so it can do consistent paper-thin slices (you need to buy the thin blade for this).

And maybe most importantly, it's been designed for relatively fast cleaning. Removing the blade requires a coin.

Rob: Great product, switch is on top of slicer so you do not end up with food at switch like you do with slicers that have the switch out front. Guide is very stiff and stays true while you are slicing. For $100 more you get a better quality slicer than can be purchased in store and delivered right to your door and this slicer is approx $100 less than the same brand improved model slicers that are listed, which don’t seem to have any more features than this slicer other than switch location. This slicer was replacing a model 610 which we had for over 20 years. Even though this is a 609A it is similar to the older model but with improved features, ie: blade removal screw. Would definitely buy again.

Daniel Burke: UPDATE: I just used this to slice some homemade bacon today. I was worried that since bacon is kind of squishy that the slicer might just drag the meat into the blade and make a mess, but WOW. This thing goes through bacon like a laser. My bacon slab was about 2-1/2" thick, too, and the machine didn't even sound like it struggled. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars at this point - I'm thrilled with it, and that's rare for me to say!

I've been wanting a slicer for years to make my venison jerky faster more and more uniformly than cutting it by hand with a chef's knife. I really wanted to find a used commercial slicer but even used they're crazy expensive and too big to store.

I recently got into making bacon from scratch, curing raw pork belly and smoking it. That kind of amped up my desire for a slicer, but I really never thought these small "home model" units could cut it, so to speak. When Amazon had this on a Deal of the Day with free returns I figured I didn't have anything to lose and gave it a try.

At first glance, it looks and feel like a toy. It's light and small, but the carriage runs smoothly and the motor and drive train sounded fine. I had a...
