Tazz: This pump is awesome!!! It can push water through a 100 foot garden hose from the bottom of a rain barrel. Iv also used one on my fish tank to make it faster to drain my 120 gallon tank rather then using my aquarium water changer (don't have to use water to pull the water out then) would definitely recommend, easy to clean!! Filters can be bought but u found going to a local pet store or hardware store and buying a cut to size filter is cheaper and works just as well. This also works great for an inline hook up

Matthew: The media could not be loaded.  Everyone probably knows that ducks love water. What they might not know—except through experience taking care of them—is that they are the messiest creatures on the planet. In short: fowl are foul. I started working out a way to make the quacks happy by giving them water in a kiddie pool, but they make it SO dirty in only a few hours, which means that I have to constantly change the water every day or two and waste a lot of water! To avoid this issue, I decided to make a filtration system that would clean the water. I did A LOT of research, and ended up piecing together my own system using different ideas from multiple filtration systems. The hardest part was deciding on the right pump to use with nasty dirty quacks. Jeff Hermans: I bought this pump kinda as a back up to my main pond pump. I don't like leaving my large, 3,500 GPM waterfall pump running when we go on vacation. I also don't want to totally shut down the filtration so I bought this smaller pump - thinking I could swap them out before we leave town. Unfortunately, the new smaller pump did not fit because I had to stack up four adapters to get up to the 2" dia. pipe size and then the whole thing was too tall - but that was my problem. Once I did get that figured out - after we returned from vacation - the pump would not work. I even tried the pump in my kitchen sink. Just a little water would gurgle out occasionally. By this time the return period had expired. I disassembled the pump - but there were no problems there. I think I just got a bad one. The price is great, so I might try ordering a new one.

I'd like to update this review: The manufacturer of the pump saw my review here and contacted me and said they wanted to send me a replacement pump free of charge. They sent a new pump and I am happy to say it works very well. It appears to pump more than the rated 1056 GPH. I have another pump that is rated...
