M.A.: Pretty small for me to turn and grip with bigger arthritic hand. Im a 5'10 female with longer fingers. If you have smaller ha ds, may be just right size for you! But I love the brand as we have another larger one. Once I establish the timing, I don't think I'll need to adjust it manually often enough to justify returning for larger size.

King: Not sure how well it actually works. I will update.
I just wanted to note that on inspection, the marks do not line up so it is hard to tell what time you are setting it. If this was a kitchen timer, it would burn my cookies.

appyface: I like this timer as a backup to me having to remember to shut off the hose-end sprinkler I use on part of the yard so I don't have a flood if I forget it. Unfortunately these timers just don't last more than a season or sometimes two, the timer function begins to stick and won't count down.
I read a comment someone left about taking it apart and fixing that mechanism. My current one is finishing its first season and the timer is already sticking, so I'm going to try to fix it and hope I get another season out of it.

Remalee: I love how easy it is to use. It feels a little lightweight so I’m hoping it will be durable. I’m very happy with it so far.

Max Gu: I like the fully mechanical design very much because that avoids the troubles of wireless connectivity and battery safety.

Pat Dowell: Orbit is the standard mechanical hose timer. I've been using them for years and they do exactly what they're supposed to do. I've tried cheaper ones and was disappointed with their durability. And I've tried much more expensive ones and I was disappointed with their durability. I had three fully functioning ones last fall. One of which came from my last house. It must have been 5 or 10 years old, God knows, it was really faded. And then, like an idiot, I left all three out this last winter and they froze and cracked just like the instructions said they would. My fault, so I bought some more. The new ones look exactly like the old ones, they must have been making this identical model for 30 or 40 years. Well, I hope so, cuz you shouldn't try to fix what ain't broke. Two things to keep in mind: 1. They are tough, but plastic and it's possible to over-tighten hoses with metal threads. If a hose leaks at the joint when you tighten it firmly with your hand, don't tighten it further with pliers or a wrench. You need to replace the hose's rubber washer. And if you hook it directly to the faucet and jerk the hose hard, it is possible to break it at the neck. But if you treat them with a...

Lois G: this mechanical timer is great for getting your garden watering organized. .. set it up to 2 hrs, no more forgetting weeper hoses overnight, no more long hose meditations... or is that just me... So far they both work fine, coming off a Y on the tap.... the only weak points may be the little plastic clutch type button you have to push down every time you want to move the dial, and the connection to the tap. The unit is quite big so there is some leverage at the tap attachment point and the hose connection side as well. I'm using a light stretchy hose on one of them for that reason, but even that puts pressure on it, so I am thinking of anchoring the whole assembly to the fence to keep it stable. The other one is attached to a 4 ft hose off the Y so it can sit on the ground, which works fine...

Barbara A.: I have these on 5 of my outdoor water faucets. Easy to install. Easy to set the time to water and automatically turn off so that I don't have to remember to go back outside to turn off the water.
