Tim: Easy to use. Basic but works for my needs. Brass fittings definitely a great upgrade over plastic. I feel like this version will last much longer.

Sprman: Bought this to help keep seed wet while planting/repairing drought and winter damaged areas in my lawn. I have an in ground sprinkler system, but prefer not to to run an entire zone 2x a day for 10+ days when keeping patches of new grass seed wet. This worked perfectly, allowing me to economically water just the areas that needed it. I have had great luck repairing damaged areas at almost any time during the summer by watering the seed 2x a day until it germinates. I used this timer all summer, rotating it to cover multiple patches, and the original batteries were still going strong after 30 days of 2X per day, 20 minute cycles. Setup is simple with the dial very easy to use and see, and the unit was exposed to the elements and worked fine.

Andy C: I used this product for an entire season before writing the review. At first, the manual function was a bit finicky. When I needed to turn the water off after a couple of minutes of use by turning the switch to 'off', you could hear a click like the device was shutting off its valve except the water wouldn’t stop. It’s not an issue when I set a manual timer for much longer period of time though. As the season went on, this problem went away so the valve could have just been a bit sticky at the beginning.
The program features are very easy to use and reliable. Batteries lasted me for the entire season. It is so convenient being able to set when my sprinklers come on and turn off without having to watch it. I read other reviews that complain about this product sometimes not lasting more than one season. At my previous house, I had an inground sprinkler system. Between spring opening, fall closing, and common repairs that are required every year, it cost me on average $400–500 dollars a year. Even if I have to buy one or two of these Orbit timers every year, it’s still much more economical than running my inground sprinkler.

Adam: I got this to replace a previous similar model. It leaks a little at times, so I used plumbers tape to make a better connection. I use a splitter after it to control two hoses. Works pretty well, easy to use. In the winter, just be sure to bring inside and remove the battery so it doesn't corrode.

Mikey: I purchased this timer to automatically water a newly seeded lawn at the cottage. It is extremely easy to use and worked great. Our lawn looks fantastic. Even though we were absent most of the summer this unit allowed our grass seed to germinate and grow. Couldn't be happier.

Opticsmith: The unit basically works great. Easy to program, long battery life (N.B. it takes two AA batteries although some places, including its own box, say 3!) No problems with being weatherproof so far.
I got three of these so I could time-phase watering different parts of my new lawn. So I wanted to set the clocks accurately but didn't succeed very well until I realized that the clock stops whenever the dial is set to clock set. So, turn them all to "clock set"; set the clocks to a couple of minutes in the future; at the right instant simultaneously turn them all to "auto" (or anything except "clock set")

Michael Greenwood: The top inlet, was sloppy/loose. and leaked like a sieve... the bottom outlet is a coarse thread and not compatible with our garden fittings ....should have had Australian fittings.....cheers

Sarah B: I have three hoses in my big acreage. I love these as they will work when I’m on holiday but more than that I can’t work gardening and I only ever use the manual override. In a click of a button I have a ten minute (or adjust time) timer. I can use it and leave the hose running and it will turn itself off. I can adjust the manual timer to run shorter or look get in 5 seconds and then carry on with my gardening. Before I would turn on all the hoses and then forget and leave one running all night (before these timers). Game changer for me!
